Out of curiosity, why does kayak fishing go by length instead of weight? Certainly wouldn’t be hard to take a picture of a scale reading versus a measuring board. Just wondering
@ChadHooverFishing3 жыл бұрын
Because you can’t ensure that the weight is accurate just because you have a picture of it. Too many ways to manipulate the weight. Too many variables like when the kayak is rocking in the wind it would be impossible to get an accurate weight. Accurate scales are more expensive than a good measuring board and they can be tampered with easier, we would have to certify all scales before each event and you still wouldn’t know they weren’t modified during the event. Anglers can also put stuff inside the fish to make it heavier. Also, from a conservation standpoint, The length is more important that the weight for fisheries management.

In the opening an angler slams a fish back into the water. Absolute most disrespectful treatment of wildlife I’ve seen. What happened to sportsmanship and showing respect for a quarry. I would equate that with kicking a four point buck in the head after you shot it. Shame on you Chad for being affiliated with such a display of absolutely disgusting disrespect for wildlife. If you believe in karma then can you believe that angle will never win another tournament.

I’ve gotta say it’s a terrible look to slam a fish into the water. If that’s what he does one camera I can only imagine what happens when cameras aren’t rolling. If you can’t handle not catching your targeted species in a tournament you have no business being in one.

Respect the wild life! When Im out kayak fishing I handle EVERY fish I catch with care. Slamming fish into the water like that is a BAD look for the Kayak fishing community. If I saw some idiot do that Id immediately dump his kayak and send him for a swim.....
