@ChadHooverFishing3 ай бұрын
Will do. I put it through the paces down in Florida and I’m working a video up on it. Here is a quick overview. At 300 lbs, I’m currently a little too big for it. I intended to put it through the paces more after I drop 30-50 lbs. It still holds me and it’s 100% usable if I was flats fishing all the time. Because I would get getting on and off for wading. I could use it for creeks, but I feel like the RVR is superior for that. It’s crazy stable even though I had water in the tank well and under the seat. I love the simplistic layout, the seat from the SS Series and the open deck. It hauls ass with a Torqeedo 403 or Newport Vessels NK180, but then I was adding even more weight so I paddled it mostly. All in all, If you are under 260-270 pounds and don’t carry a ton of gear you will be fine. If you are over that you may get frustrated with the water under the seat and the tankwell flooding. I don’t usually use scuppers to increase capacity because you then lose the self bailing ability. However, for this kayak you could totally use scuppers to make it a dryer ride because the boat will not hold a ton of water and for fishing flats you can easily hop in and out if you really needed to drain it after wind sloshed water in, after a rainstorm or after you took on a wave from a boat wake. Hope this helps. Chad
@caseysimpson5253 ай бұрын
@ChadHooverFishing Thanks Brother. You actually answered all the question I dont see anyone asking. I run very light gear. 2 rods. A plano guide series tackle bag. Maybe a soft day cooler and that's it. Wil have to get a tundra 35 sized to try out n place of the seat. I'm going to look at one next week. Probably going to pull the trigger and get it. I do tons of wade fishing and with the kayak being so light and low profile I really think it's a winner. Maybe in the future we could see and updated model that can make them run a little dryer. I bet the guys at Bonafide are already working on it. Also, I really like these specialized kayaks like the SKF and RVR. Hope to see more on these platforms and maybe a specialized Off shore kayak. Name it the OFF 130 something. With that and the SKF it would complete my world of fishing. Thanks again Brother.

For those that may not know this, Bonafide got pretty impacted by the Hurricane. So you may not here back from them right away. Here is a summary of things that I found out, mostly the hard way,especially around the Motors.... For those of us that purchased the XTR 130, this is what I can tell you in case they are unable to get back to you. 1- Foot Steering, the new system is not being shipped with Kayaks, nor is the steering Cord pre-wired. You will have to drill into Kayak to run these lines and use the existing foot braces/steering for now...But you will have to purchase a kit in order to do this. 2- Bow Motor Mount. There is currently no mount for the Xi3 Motor available. Ketch is going to be making one soon. I have the Xi3 Motorguide Trolling Motor but no way to put it on. 3 - Stern Motor Mount. IF you plan on Using Newport Vessels 300NK 300 , Note that the bolts they provide will not fit the Bonafide's Pre-drilled Holes. You can use the ones that Bonafide provide but they are smaller, and I have to admit, I have concerns about this solution as I am somebody that has purchased the 300NK Motor and hooked it up, does not seem that it will last very long, so I am hoping Bonafide addresses this as soon as possible as well.
@ChadHooverFishing26 күн бұрын
Thanks for the updates. What is your concern about how to NK motor connects? I’m not following you.
@charliepalmer246526 күн бұрын
@@ChadHooverFishing , its the weight of the 300 NK, it Feels like it could use a mount or that I should drill at least two more Holes into Existing NK Mount and Use the Bolts Newport Vessels Provided , which are thicker/stronger than a longer version of the ones Bonafide Pre-drilled for.

@ChadHooverFishing3 ай бұрын
We have a name for it. It’s “fishing kayak”. It’s not and they never have been “kayaks” since the Inuits. We don’t wear skirts, use nose plugs or wear helmets, it’s a fishing kayak. So to your point, there are whitewater kayaks, touring kayaks, sprint kayaks, recreational kayaks and these are fishing kayaks. Fishing kayaks just happen to be the biggest and the broadest category for interpretation because it’s vastly different in the customer base that it serves.

To rig this thing cleanly, you pretty much just have to pick which way you want to fish(standing on the platform or not) and go with it. If you've got your graphs in front of the standing platform, they're too far away to be used from the seat, and if they're mounted to the standing platform, you obviously can't standing on it. I think this boat will be good for some people, but it definitely isn't going to replace every tournament rig. Also, why did Bonafide depart from their naming rules! Shouldve been the XTR 127. I guess the marketing department won🤷♂
@ChadHooverFishing3 ай бұрын
We didn’t depart from the naming, the number is the length and the 127 is 12 ft 7”, the RVR 119 is 11’9”, the PWR 129 is 12’9” and the XTR 130 is 13’0”
@ChadHooverFishing3 ай бұрын
You are only seeing “quick rigging” setup for trade shows. If you want to use the graphs and the deck you can’t mount the graphs back by the seat, the. Use the deck. You can use a cross boat line other kayaks and put the graphs closer to you and then step up and over on the the deck. You can have one graph off the the side on the rail and then a second graph up front like many anglers do in bass boats. Basically, don’t think just because the marketing people stuck some stuff on the boat for the show and a couple of hype videos that that is the only ways you can configure it. Hope that makes sense.
@charliepalmer2465Ай бұрын
9:51 fact check , there is no pre rigged lines for your rudder, and there is no rudder, no junk tray, you get the hull, seat, rails, basically your paying for the platform, everything else be prepared to roll up your selves,not saying that is bad or good just understand it and determine if that is what you want. only thing I'm upset about at this price point, is no pre-run conduits for your steering.. my opinion that should have been there. this also means your going to have to drill into the kayak itself.
@ChadHooverFishing26 күн бұрын
Once I get the final version from the factory I will do an updated video. They are shut down due to the hurricane or I would already have them and have the videos out. You get the hull, seat, seat frame, standard foot braces, rails, traction pads, installed accessory tracks and standing/casting deck. This is the EASIEST boat every to install steering tubes and they have to make decisions on certain things to keep the labor down and the price point where it needs to be for those that don’t want certain things.

It's true that we're making bigger boats now. There are lots of "kayaks" that can be used for recreational paddling or even fishing. The Bonafide RVR 119 is a fishing kayak that behaves a lot more like a kayak and still offers motorization and fishing features. It's probably my personal favorite because I come from Whitewater paddling. I started fishing from a 15 ft 28" wide touring kayak in class 1-2 For small boats it's true that you could buy a pond prowler or a used jon boat, BUT one thing that's great about doing larger roto-molded boats for fishing is that we can add so many great features into the design. So right away, you've got things setup so much better than you can do with a basic tub. We can also design the hull side of the boat to have the right performance that can't be done in aluminum or thermo. We also run whitewater tested resins, so you have durability for lots of environments and the ability to rig them is so much better than base aluminum jon boats. Last thing is that this boat is self-bailing and can keep you out of trouble better. So you don't have as much worry on the water. So these boats offer us more freedom to fish independently in the places we want to fish. And the cost is still much better than other options.
@ChadHooverFishing3 ай бұрын
Actually, they are making more kayaks than ever before. They are just ALSO making these bigger fishing kayaks based on consumer demand.

Inflatable packrafts/kayaks is the future. More people have a trunk and not a truck more people dont own a roof rack or trailer. More companies need to switch to that platform to get the masses into it. Less people will buy a kayak because of what a kayak needs. Trailer or roof rack is needed.
