Making Simple Silver Bands

In this video tutorial, I show the viewer all of the steps, including cutting, shaping, soldering, and finally polishing two types of silver band rings. This video runs a bit longer, but is worth finishing. Feel free to comment about your experiences with using this tutorial, or what your first project was, and what kind of obstacles you faced as a beginner. Great instructional video as usual. I love to make stacking rings & actually have used that exact same pattered wire...l luv that pattern. What was the first compound you used during polishing? I heard you say Zam was used on the second wheel. thnx.

Can you make your own designs on silver ring or print on them instead of having ready made patterns on the silver?

Why yes you can. Using a rolling mill, I often impress commercial or custom made patterns onto the surface of the metal. I will make a video about how that process works in the near future. Thanks for the great question!

Hello Sheree. I buy it from Rio Grande Jewelry Supply out of Albuquerque, but most Jewelry supply companies have a selection of pattern wires.

Hello Marylee! Pattern wires aren't sold in gauge measurements, at least from Rio (not a sponsor), where I get my supplies. They just have item numbers, but the specific sizes can be found in the description of each type on their website. Hope this helps:)
