In case nobody has mentioned it already, the round circular thing he made around the set is called a 'Tinker's Dam'....hence the old expression...worth a Tinker's Dam...meaning almost nothing as it is a temporary dam to hold everything together only until it can be permanently joined, then it is scrapped. Cheers from Canada North

Besides the great ability and forming techniques of the jeweler I appreciated seeing the hand powered rolling mills with their inertia wheels and huge rolls (larger rolls will produce flatter sheets and wires) and his wire cutting pliers with holes for different diameters. The best thing I have ever seen to create evenly sized granules. And the refractory blanket he lays them on to round them up. Better than what is taught and sold by high class jewelry studios in the US. So many places where traditional jewelry techniques have been maintained but have been lost in richer countries. This is where one should go for workshops on these techniques.

Our corrupt democratic leaders are the reason why these craftsmen arent paid enough, this western democracy has destroyed mideastern countries after ww2. Im from pakistan and i can tell you most of the business and intelligent people dont do business with banks because of interest which is totally forbidden in islam and extra tax, otherwise you would see everyone would be making a lot of money, half of our taxes goes to corrupt poiticians who cant even fix roads for decades, thats why when we muslims say we want islamic system we want these corruptors to get punished, but this fake democracy which works in the west, doesnt work here it protects these thiefs, i hope these craftsman keep carrying on this great work. Remember we dont hate you western people we also watch and respect your technology, we just dont like when you change our culture and values by force by bombing our countries. And the mainstream media keep spreading fake news about our women by paid actors.

@@Geda.gede.gada.gadaoo Dear Friend, Well spoken. I believe every word you say. but i want to tell you that we are here in the west, i am from the netherlands. it is not much different. We do make a lot of money. but pay almost as much tax, and others taxes. that we are rich on paper. but in reality actually living in poverty. here too everything goes to the state and king. the king's daughter alone gets 250,000 a month of our money. there are 3 daughters. my daughter gets 400 a month. So friend with us it's just the same, ONLY they call it different.the whole world is the same thing. This has nothing to do with religion.moslin or cristen/black or white. But the Happy Few. Who hold the real ropes. and world leaders are puppets. They determine who is rich or wage slave, so this is about rich and poor. and the rich who run the world. and we are the slaves. And we poor believe in God or Allah. But that won't help us. Because money is more powerful on earth than god or allah. And money is actually a tool of the Devil. to let the rich do what they have to do. and worldwide they do that too. keep the great slave herd under control. So here in the west it's not much different my brother. Only they sell it with a nicer story. And also to create hatred towards Muslims. me we western slaves, even we who are smart don't believe that. This is just a big conspiracy world wide. of the Happy Few.

@@johncarter6238 another reason for the destruction is the country system it has brought in extreme nationalism specially in our muslim countries, back then there would a sultanate or an empire which would be known by the cities and they would have governors. As the british empire left india after pakistan was formed or the map of afghanistan was formed, the british made a map which woul cause future wars between us and it did, but as you said today the rich control the world, yes they do but only because God has allowed them to test us, there time will end like all those people and empires before them, the pharoahs, nimrod etc and they will be punished for what they did. Today you can see the fall of america with your own eyes, not because of taliban, but from inside, china has already become a superpower of our region. Its not a conspiracy though what the payseurs and the elites want, it all lies in jerusalem, and they would do anything for it even starting ww3. The whole world are blind sheeps to what us happening there daily. Its always the same the victor write the stories, it has been going for 100s of years. Our islamic history from al andalus or baghdad is totally wiped out. Read about abbas ib farnas, ismail al jazari, muhammad al idrisi, ibn al haitham, ibn sina etc, the west took their works and never credited them

Fascinating how you do this, whilst just sitting on the floor, without a comfortable work station to sit at? Everything around you dirty, broken and in decay, yet somehow still functional. Extruding silver wire using your bare feet! No technology at all. This is how jewellery has been made throughout many hundreds of years I’d wager. It seems to me that with more advanced equipment you could turn out even better and even more beautiful pieces. You have worked wonders and produced an enjoyable vid too. Thank you for sharing.

Trans: The small round balls are part of the design, the technique is called granulation which comes from the word granules. The small flat squares is the solder which is not as pure as the surrounding jewelry. It's usually mixed with a white metal that has a lower melting point and is coated with flux to help it melt and not oxidize when heated.

I have learned so much from this 1. How this filigreed work is made and 2. I will never be able to create this beautifully.

The man talking in the background must be the boss. I thought I heard him say "Hurry up I'm loosing money". Lol. Just kidding. Great job brother. I really enjoyed watching.

If I even had the skill to do that kind of work, and I don't, I'd want $1000 for my time and effort. The craftsman probably got $5.00 for his work!
