3 Turtle Themed Projects : A Beginner Silversmithing Tutorial

This tutorial shows how to make 3 different silversmithing projects with turtle themes. The earrings are a beginning level project, the sea turtle is an intermediate level, and the land turtle is an advanced piece. For materials, I used 18, 20 and 22 gauge sterling round wire, number 7 sterling triangle wire (2.62 mm), 18, 22, and 26 gauge sterling sheet, and 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) fine silver bezel strip in 26 gauge. ​@@chadssilversmithing I definitely do! I already ordered the materials to make one. My daughter loves sea turtles and I want to make her one. I am wondering if it would be possible to make the pattern of the shell over the stone with wire without cracking the stone. I love your version and I am making that one, but I would like to try to make the top of the shell pattern with wire sometime if possible. Any ideas how I would protect the stone if I wanted to try that? Thank you so much Chad!

Chad, this is a fun group of turtles! I recently made one similar to your sea turtle. I put a hidden bail behind one front flipper - it looks like it's swimming by... I really enjoyed this episode, thank you!

One more question: Chad, have you noticed that "Included paid promotion" is in the video all the way through, now? I've noticed that lately; do you know why? It's really diatracting.

@chadssilversmithing I get that. Many channels have that notification, but it's usually right in the beginning and only for a short period. I noticed it on another (travel) channel, and they responded that they didn't know why the notice stayed up throughout their entire video. It's especially distracting when watching beautiful places AND beautiful jewelry being made! Maybe KZbin is getting frisky. 😆
