what R the numbers , JJ gets what 2 fight stipe 10 million plus pay per view points so he gets 12 million ruffly ? now JJ wants 20 to 30 million thats with/with out pay per view, but thats just a few million the UFC still may have to fork out up to 28Mill just to reach the final 30Mill pay per view total ruffly ,. U know Jones fights Tom if the UFC say OK Jones we will pay ya 25 million to do this fight then Jones would agree ,. its Dana just wants to pay jones 10 to 15 mill or a lot less ,. its going to be dana has to fix this for the fans and open his wallet he gambles throws away millions he now has to throw a brinks truck at jones to make this heavy weight fight ,.( my numbers could be way off JJ might only have gotten a few million to fight Stipe that might be more realistic ) ,. its going to be to fight Tom JJ wants a bank vault if Dana cant make him happy he wont do the fight , in other news Dana say IF Alex P was in2 fighting jones IF he really wanted 2 then dana would do that fight , the point is there is still sum negotiation room for Jones to return for one more fight what every one wants is for him to be tested against a killer in Tom at HW because everyone believes he is taking Alex to the ground and beating him there rather easy fight for jones maybe jones even fights both of them and destroys both divisions and then retires that would kind of suck for the UFC Wile Jones retired rich he clapped out there best guys in 2 weight classes only guy it appears that offers jones any real danger is Tom a guy that there is no real tape on to study because all of his fights ended in a minute with him bouncing the opponents head off the canvas making it a dangerous fight for Jones ,. they better work this out for the fans after all the drama and francis leaving there left to unify the HW championship and interim belts hear dana has to pay jones and the fans want to see this fight to find out who the baddest man on the planet is the UFC considered the premier cage fighting organization on the planet so its a pretty high up award to hold ,. the tru HW champion ship belt wen its unified with Tom then its legit,, winner holds all ,.. cheers :)’

Dana himself said the Jones Aspinal fight would be "the biggest fight in UFC history". Meanwhile UFC fighters are watching fighters doing sideshows in things like boxing and other organizations and making 5x more money. I'm not a Jones fan, but 100% understand why he would be asking for 20+ million for the fight. People calling him a coward for asking for that kind of money are clowns. Guys like Chael are constantly saying.. "Jon has a sweet contract".. that used to work, until fighters like Francis came out and showed that they made way more in 1 boxing match than in their entire UFC career. Offering Jon 10 million for the supposed most anticipated fight of all time.. that number isn't going to cut it anymore. People aren't in the dark on wages nowadays, and know what kind of profit the UFC is making on these fights.
@jasond1984 күн бұрын
Wanting more money for a hard or big high profile fight is typical. That's not what's happening here though. Jon has exposed his weak self. Yin and yang. Don't think he ain't got one. Jon's retired. He just don't know it yet.
@chadlaflamme79424 күн бұрын
@jasond198 He made it pretty clear by saying.. "if I'm going to fight this young hungry guy Tom Aspinal I want big money to risk my legacy" Jon himself admitted that Tom is a risky fight at his age, so he wants big money to take the risk. Sounded pretty straight forward to me. The point is.. once you get passed all the drama.. why wouldn't the UFC pay big money for that fight. Not just because UFC fighters are underpaid (which you can pretend doesn't matter, but guess what.. in the adult world.. we're all in it for money), but also.. Jon has the leverage right now, the heavyweight division is weak, they know it's going to fall flat for a while when Jon retires, why Tom likely dominates, so the best thing for the heavyweight future is for Tom to beat Jon now. Tom needs this win for people to care about the division because the numbers are going to go way down.

The UFC has to fix their pay per view system. Nobody pays $80 to watch 1 sporting event. Everyone is watching pirate streams because the price is too high. A movie ticket is $11.99. Netflix is $15.49. Charge somewhere in that ballpark, people will start paying, revenue will go up, and then they can start paying the fighters what they are expecting as professional athletes.
@BackyardBlacksmithing5 күн бұрын
Seriously, people are dying to watch UFC, just look at the illegal streams. Every popular streaming site this weekend was crashing (prob bc nobody wanted to buy the shit card). Lower the price and ppl will be willing to buy the PPV. $80 every 1-2 weeks is too much for most people.

This is called a special economic event/situation it's kind of how taco bell/kfc at the international airport charge more. The real money is in the prestige advertising at the bigger UFCs like Jon Jones/Conner/Alex Pierre fights.

Jon Jones has every right to demand top dollar for a fight with Tom Aspinall. At this stage of his career, he’s earned the right to focus on legacy-defining bouts that bring in major paydays. With only a few fights left, it makes perfect sense for him to prioritize blockbuster matchups over rising contenders. And honestly, who has Aspinall faced that even comes close to Jones’s caliber? If they do eventually clash, fans should expect Jones to deliver a masterclass-just as he has with every challenger before. Fans need to give Jones the respect he deserves as the true GOAT.

Jones and Miocic were estimated at 800k. To put things in perspective McGregor vs, Nurmagomedov sold a staggering 2.4 mil on ppv. This is why McGregor gets $20+ mil per fight. Tom Aspinall v Jones will not sell like Conor did, but it will be huge and Jones should get more money if he is going to bring this kind of ppv sales.

Jon 'dislikes' Tom because he knows Tom beats his ass all day every day. He wants to fight Alex because he's smaller and doesn't grapple. Jon only fights when he has an advantage, its smart, but it's also very unbecoming of a world champion. He mentioned BMF, ducking interim champ for a smaller opponent with glaring stylistic disadvantages (no wrestling at all) is the least BMF thing he could do, even mentioning it in that context disqualifies you IMO. BMF is for warriors, Jon is not a warrior, he is a bully. He should retire or take his L but one way or another he needs to stop holding onto that heavyweight strap.

Everyone has it twisted. Dana knows Heavyweight is the best for optics. Α controversial fighter gets eyes through love and hate and curiosity. Dana isn't oiling Jon up, same way he wasn't oiling Conor up, or Pereira or whoever. He's building up his crowd-attracting fighters. He loves any hype train that makes money, valid, invalid, proven, unproven - whoever. That's why hes saying 'this is definitely Tom next' - because it is a controversy and gets the most eyes. He's a businessman, not a purist with the eyes for the best and most-balanced and justified fights - he's just seeing dollar bills. It's a business, it is what it is.

The only time you can make that comparison , is when you know both sports are drawing the same amount of revenue. If they aren’t, you have to look at factors, like percentage of the expenses. After 16 years in the UFC and reigning for 14 years, Jon Jones earned the right to demand a career high payday. The PPVs of Aspinall are abysmal but a fight against Jones would be huge because of the latter. Jones is bringing the belt, his legacy, name recognition and global interest to the fight. If Aspinall loses, nobody really cares. He lost to the GOAT they will say and he can still thrive in the aftermath. If Jon loses, that’s a big stain on his record, and people, especially his haters, would finally have the ammo to question his GOAT status with an actual loss, not alternative takes about Reyes or Gustafson being victorious or moral lectures about his private life, but an actual clear cut loss. A victory does nothing for him in the grand scheme of things unless Aspinall after his loss embarked on a decade long undefeated streak and surpassed Stipe as the most decorated heavyweight of all time. That’s a lot of risk for little gains, so it makes sense that he wants to be adequately compensated, but his haters won’t even grant him that privilege.
@kenneyoakwood12935 күн бұрын

Cheating (drugs, enhancements, eye poked, groin shots) isnt acceptable for anyone to do let alone someone that's the supposed "goat". The dude literally built a career off fighting guys past their prime and on a decline that's not a goat, that's no different then what Jake Paul's doing. If it was anyone else wiith his BS in the ring and out the ring, they would of been banned from the spot.

I don't think Jon is really that big of a draw either in fairness for an undefeated reigning goat of all time I don't think he does great PPV numbers. Obviously they are talking about jon cos he is the champ that Tom is calling out and he's jon but make no mistake. Tom got tom there. That's why Cyril gane wasn't as demanded or even stipe. That's like saying connor vs aldo wouldn't sell so much were it not for aldo. Thats false and ignores how the story happened. Seriously. Only new young talents bet on themselves. Old established stars do not bet on themselves. Jon has established himself as a star and has the right to ask for whatever he deems appropriate. If the UFC says no then he should walk. Lesnar is not Jones, if GSP walked after Hendricks why can't Jones. If his advisors have an ounce of competence and independence they should be prepared to walk if terms cannot be agreed. It makes no sense to help UFC build Aspinall as a star and UK market without a substantial payout. The UK and US market being the aim. UFC will not sacrifice Pereira for a fighter on the way out because he is a cash cow, Aspinall currently is not. And no, there is not only one way. Reasonable is in the eye of the beholder, true power is the ability to walk away NOT money. Nothing lasts forever, Dana, the UFC, money or anything else for that matter. If Jones is smart and has not sold his soul, his motto should give me a big piece of pie or bye bye.

When other entertainers, and make no mistake Chael, fighters are entertainers, first started getting things that none of them ever got before, it was because there was someone with the stones to demand it, or they were going to walk. You can make the case that Jon can't go fight elsewhere or he breaches contract. Perhaps he couldn't go do kick boxing or BJJ, if his contract forbids it also, but to say that Jon Jones doesn't have options to make a living without the UFC is ludicrous. In the music business, they called it, "owning their own masters". I would call that rather similar to getting a cut of the pay per views. Michael Jordan's mom was smart enough to demand that if he was signing with Nike, that he had to get royalties, which is really similar to the PPV cut, I don't think Jon is being unreasonable. With every fight he takes on and the older he gets, his legacy of being unbeaten in the cage, gets harder to maintain. It gets riskier with every fight. For more risk, there should be more reward. I am not saying it is all Dana's fault, but I believe he got that part wrong. Jon signed it though, but that still doesn't mean they should be shaking hands, unless a better deal is reached, or it is for Jon to say goodbye. Having said that, I still think he can beat Tom, if he can avoid getting knocked out, which doesn't appear easy.

The participation is just a carrot dangling in front of these guys to keep accepting their same shitty contracts. There would be a hell of a lot more profit sharing if the fighters could ever unioinize and get proper sports contracts like other major sports organizations. When you think about the Domonick Reyes fight, you realize that Jon was tired of kicking everyone at light heavyweight's ass and he took the night off during the Domonick Reyes fight, realized it, and relinquished the belt to set a goal for himself to move up to heavyweight because that mission would put the element of "fear" back into the circumstances and motivate him again. Whether he fights Aspinall, Pereira or retires, I'll be happy that I was alive to see the greatest mixed martial artist of all time live from the start of his career to the end of his career. Guess what… He’s fighting a guy with the fastest average finish time in UFC history, his whole UFC career cage time was shorter than it took for Jones to take out a 42 year old Stipe who’d been retired for 4 years. 100% takedown offence, 100% takedown defence, a black belt in BJJ since he was 16 (Jon’s still purple for reference). Was in 5 of Tyson Fury’s training camps putting world class level boxers on their asses. I mean, there’s nowhere really Jon can win this fight. Jon likes fights he an advantage over in one of those departments, that’s why he couldn’t even mention his name post fight, that’s why he banned Tom from the press conference and weigh-in’s. When his own people from his own home state of New York gave the biggest pop of the night of the presser to Tom, and started chanting “TOMMY! TOMMY!”… after him claiming Tom was a nobody? Jon is starting to realize how easy these heavyweights are for him. He was convinced he needed a bunch of weight which then made the HW debut take forever. He's the next generation. Yea I know Jon wants Alex because he thinks that'll get more pop and he's probably right but in terms of interesting fight Aspinal really has something and Jon knows that too. Jon is in control IF the UFC really wants to make it happen. Yes, at some point Dana has to be confident that the money for the ONE fight works in their favor. Tom is the minor partner in this deal. Jon is the main draw. At Jon's age it can't be viewed as a multi-fight deal. Win or lose this is very close to the end of the road in Jon's fighting career. There are two parties that need to be satisfied. Dana has to use his wisdom to come up with a max deal that is profitable to the UFC and is agreeable to Jon. For Tom this is a stepping stone to building a kegacy. The big money for him comes after this fight IF he can beat Jon. Tom needs this fight much more than Jon needs it. I don't think ultimately Jon is looking to hurt the UFC and the discussion about odds makers being a factor at THIS point in his career and after all he has accomplished doesn't make sense. Jon has over a decade of proving he is the best to have ever done it. Dana with confidence says that. Even if Tom was to beat Jon he'd have a lot more to do to try to take on that legacy.

Chael normally nails these arguments, or topics, however you want to categorize it. However I feel like he missed a big part of this one. See, his analysis would be completely accurate if jon was refusing to fight, like Fransis at the end of his contract. Only thing is that's not what jon said or is doing. Jon very clearly said he would still fight, even picked an opponent. He hasn't demanded more money to fight, he demanded more money to fight a specific person if the UFC wouldn't make any other fights. Now that doesn't change the dynamic completely but it does make a big difference. The UFC wants to host one specific bout because they see it as more profitable, Jon realizing this, also wants more money..... that does change things, like it or not. Now the comparison of rumored wages, chael is still on target with that and everything else. Only thing he missed was Jon is still willing to fight under his current contract, but it's not the fight the UFC wants. Problem is, they have already set the precedent that dominate champions can bounce weight class to weight class to get belts. So jon does have standing to say that he wants to go back down and fight Alex. The ufc knows however, that it would be a terrible idea. Jon exposes Alex and ends the hype and money tree at light heavyweight.

Why can't the UFC pay Jon Jones his $30-$35 million. Jones should only fight him if he gets to put $20 million profit (after taxes, fees & salaries are all paid) in his bank account. After all of these years they can scrape that together & just pay him. They can say he needs to retire afterward that fight or keep it going for 1-2 more fights.
