This is, hands down, the absolute best company for shampoo bars. I have been to many places in the world and I try all the local products, but nothing has ever compared to my coconut bar. I am growing my hair very long, and this has helped so much! I just absolutely love the products your company makes.

one of my favourite brands ever! and I'm so happy to see y'all are on youtube! your bars are literally THE best on the market and I like how much I can trust your company. The prices are amazing and it just honestly warms my heart to see that someone is doing something so good out there! love you so much and i always recommend these bars to anyone! I live in Switzerland and I used to work for Lush and if a customer had dry hair or said that Lush's shampoo bars dry out their hair (which they do because of SLS) I was like "check out Chagrin Valley!" Just... I love your company!!!

I've been using their products for over a year, and I LOVE them! Prior to shampoo bars, my scalp was so oily that I had to wash my hair every day. Now that I am not stripping my hair, the oil production has leveled out and I am able to go a couple days in between hair washes! I could also go on for a long time how their oils and salves have helped my sensitivities. They have calmed itchy and inflamed skin, cleared up acne, and healed burn scars. Their prices are so much more reasonable than their counterparts and the products last a long time. They are so rich that you only need a little! My favorite feature is that these products are multi-purpose powerhouses. Though they don't recommend you use the soap as shampoo, they work great the other way around. So now for travel, I toss in my favorite shampoo bar, which eliminates a bottle of shampoo, a bottle of conditioner, a bottle of body wash, AND a container of shaving cream (the lather is so creamy, it works great for razors!) I have also eliminated the need to pack all these things in a plastic baggie to prevent a mess from leaking bottles. The shower is also a far less cluttered space since I got my husband hooked and we only use the bars now.

Before switching to shampoo bars I had all the symptoms of extreme dandruff. I'm still in the adjustment period for these. Yet, I can finally walk around comfortable and confident that my scalp isn't flaking all over the place.

Please tell us what products the gentleman used on his hair. It seems like it has hair conditioner that makes strands. I appreciate the explanation of your almost food soap bars. Do the bars get soft and mushy like some private company bars do? Do they build up lots of bacteria on the surface? Do you use any beef or pork fat in the recipes? I see lots of coconut and olive oil in the private market. I also have an old bar of Irish Spring. It does not get soft and it still cleans. I bought a shampoo bar made on the west coast. It is very sudsy from the sodium laurel sulfate. But it leaves gritty little pieces of something. That is not a very comfortable experience on my head or in my shower. It feels like I am walking on pebbles. The bar has been used 5 times. After three washes, two days later, the hair looks all matted down like the speaker on the video. Is there an explanation? I have been using a good bar of soap to wash a dish or two and wash animal fat from my hands after preparing a meal. what do you have that would do that for me? Thank you!!

I wonder why on their page, they don't put the entire ingredient list, but the featured ingredients in the specific product. Any help where to find the complete ingredient list?
@keke69246 жыл бұрын
I just recently ordered some of their bars and the ingredients I saw on the website are the same ones on the package. NaOH is the only thing that makes it lather but they use mainly oils and butters so your hair wont be stripped.
@nurirella35156 жыл бұрын
Keanna Wesley That's not true. NaOH reacts with the oils and creates soap and Glycerin. Those are effective based on their chemical composition. They superfat their soas to add more moisture to the skin.
@keke69246 жыл бұрын
I was referring to the saponification process in my orginal response so the person wouldn't wonder why it was on the ingredients list but okay

I really like your guy's aesthetics, and perhaps when I finish my bottle shampoo I'll give one of your bars a shot, but I feel like your argument about why liquid soaps are bad is somewhat pseudoscience-y. I agree that it's likely that many liquid shampoos are too harsh for our scalps, but I don't understand what it is that detergents inherently do that strips hair of "moisture". A detergent is a chemical that attracts dirt and oil to it so it can be washed out, right? There are certainly detergents that are too strong and disturb the hair cuticle or irritate the scalp, but then the problem becomes the strength, not the kind of chemical. The vague way you use the word "detergent" gives me the impression it's used to scare people away from their products and to your more "natural" ones. It's an effective marketing strategy, since you brand yourself as all-natural, just a bit questionable. That also goes for the way you emphasize the word "moisture". Hair isn't actually moist -- the terminology and definition is loaned from skin care: rough/abrasive = dry; soft/smooth = moisturized. But contrary to popular belief, hair is not skin, and the opposite is actually true for hair (when the humidity in the air is extraordinarily high, hair frizzes. Anti-humidity/anti-frizz products are usually formulated to keep moisture out with some kind of oil or inclusive layer). It seems as though you already know all this, as you guys transition to talk about butters and oils soon after, but gives your consumers the wrong idea of what's actually happening to their hair. Using a strong detergent doesn't dry hair out -- it can leave the hair cuticle exposed or even raised and thus invites more moisture into the hair, which can leave the hair seeming "dry". I'm leaving this comment not to discredit Chagrin Valley's shampoo bars at all (because they seem like high quality products) but mostly because I would rather see a more detailed explanation of how your guy's products work, especially with so much beauty misinformation circulating the web.

Weird, I'm here cause this stuff dried my hair out super bad, just to hear this guy go on an on about how moisturizing this supposedly is...better look elsewhere folks
