Some people are just overflowing with negativity , what can be done? I dont agree with the good lady as her method is a little flawed , but then as she said in the beginning every Indian family has its own way of making Chai. Still I think its a very well done video .

Manjula, I am one of your subscribers and I live in Florida. I have tried some of your recipes of Indian vegetable dishes. They turned out great. I am in India at present for a business trip and I still watch your KZbin shows here (October 2014). This chai recipe sounds really great and I will make it for my nephew's family soon. Thanks for your great web site as well. Bye for now.

Hi Manjula. Just questioning your measurements of anise seed, and ginger powder, if you can clarify please. You said 1 tsp anise seed, but your little bowl looks more like a tbsp. You said 1/2 tsp ginger powder but that looks like about 1 tbsp.

Yum Yum Yum!!! I just got back from India (and will be posting lots of videos) but seriously I have been searching for an easy recipe to follow...Can you use a blender or something else to grind the spices? Is there a way to do it by hand? Thanks!!! Also, I'm allergic to milk. Does anyone use almond or soy milk? which is better? Shukriya!

@BohistaNordica Almond milk is probably better. In my experience it is creamier and closer to the actual taste of milk than rice milk. It also has fewer calories than either rice milk or normal milk. The only down side is that it has fairly low protein. But if you try it, be sure to get unsweetened to enjoy the low calorie yet creamy benefits.

Dear Manjula, I love your videos, you are so kind and nice to share with us. I have a question about the spice grinder. I like your cuisinart spice grinder but on amazon many people said the motor burned out and they had to return it. Have you had any problems with yours?

It's saunf. Fennel seeds and anise seeds are considered the same in Indian cooking and medicine. I personally prefer to use star anise in my chai over either of the other two.
