Can see some issues with it becoming a fully blown tourist place in a short period of time hence why the airport is progressing slowly and such. Getting there requires some effort (as you probably know). Then if the airport opened it would probably be domestic flights coming in initially (I remember when they opened the airport in Koh Samui Thailand over 20 years ago and it was the same thing). There are alot of competing places like it, which are a bit more developed and more interesting for high paying international tourists (Phu Quoc in Vietnam comes to mind). So I suspect the money to pay for the airport will come along as the island develops and they can see some return on the money in a shorter period of time. But yes, beautiful beaches and a great vibe.

We went there with our 2 little toddlers 6 years ago. It was absolutely breathtaking!! We went in the water for a good 150 yards out to sea and my toddlers can still stand up to their waist areas. The water temperature was heavenly like bath water…we were so spoiled, compared to California ocean temperatures and Lake Tahoe water temperatures 🥶. Good to know it still looks about the same. We plan to return soon for another week stay like last time. Beautiful hidden paradise!! ❤❤❤

There are two variations, Luk Lac which is the Cambodian version and Bo Luc Lak, a Vietnamese version. In Vietnamese Bo means beef and luc lac means shaking, it is cooked in a wok so this is also known as shaking beef.
@tinan8889 ай бұрын
In Cambodia, shaking beef is known as lok lak or loc lac (Khmer: ឡុកឡាក់) and often considered a national dish even though the dish originated in Vietnam.The original lok lak uses high-quality steak cut into cubes and pan-seared in French butter which stems from Indochina's French colonial past, while a simpler version influenced by Chinese culinary techniques uses cheap cuts of beef and Chinese oyster sauce.
@tinan8889 ай бұрын
Shaking beef or bo luc lac (Vietnamese: bò lúc lắc, French: bœuf lôc lac) is a Vietnamese dish that consists of beef sauteed with cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, pepper, and soy sauce. The beef is cut into small cubes the size of playing dice (hột lúc lắc) before being sauteed. Beef used to be a luxury ingredient; the dish was therefore mostly served at formal events, such as wedding banquets and anniversaries,although now it has become a common food. Before French colonization, cows were only used for manual labour and were working animals.
