Just a suggestion, why don’t you get a chipper and chip a lot of that smaller dead material and spread it on top of the soil/clay so it doesn’t get as muddy?

Jesse, you are an extremely hard working man. You tackle any job thrown at you. What you are doing to provide a better life for your family is nothing short of remarkable. I am a 64 year old man who is a retired master cabinet and furniture maker(until I saw your work lol). I don’t have a large bucket list, but sir you are on it. I would love for my wife and I to meet you and maybe even build a project together. I truly believe you inspire people to do better.

Only wish your time would allow for more videos but understand the workload is prohibitive to more videos. Please post as many You tube videos as you can - I wait in eagerness for all of your videos. This has me thinking about a tapered axe face with the heel of the axe thinner than the toe of the blade. Inverted distal taper and maybe some S grind. The guiding idea being the heel can cut in more easily for moves and the toe is more wedge-like for pith placement cracking splits. I suspect even after an incomplete spit, a thicker toe would allow rocking movement in the beard. Even if just a gradual change down the cutting edge from convex at the toe to hollow grind at the heel. Then make that thing heavy so it feels like it does its own work. And long in the face enough to pass through any half logs so grain won't matter. That thing looks big on screen, and it's easy to forget you're a giant with only trees for reference. When cutting cooking wood, I want the splits to land nearby. Not trying to walk a half mile to cook some ribs. But cutting cords: let it fly over there, I'll gladly stack two separate cords if I can split them all in one go.

Get the kids on splitting firewood! You got a gang of them and kids can safely split firewood with wedges and a small sledgehammer. I started with an axe when I was 6 (not the most responsible thing in hindsight, dad) But I never hurt myself, my dad was real clear with what would happen if I hit myself with the axe, so I was reeeeeeeal careful.

With all the dead wood you can't get to, I was wondering if a firewood cutter could come up there on a barge and cut all the wood you wouldn't use for lumber. You would get the area cleaned up faster, and they would have free firewood that you wouldn't use before it all rotted.
