Here in Utah many alpine lakes are stocked via airplane drops. Pretty cool videos out there demonstrating it. I've also heard that some fish eggs can be transported via water bird's feces.

I so enjoy your personality and all the fun things you say and comments on things, I’ve thought to myself over a few years of watching your videos that you and I have a similar sense of humor ( good,bad 🤗) but when you got to the top of the mountain and stood there naked . I knew we were brothers. I’ve done same exact thing. You must have an incredible wife and family .

I would suggest making a key ring hook. And then put all of them there. Quads, Hitachi, boats, whatever you have a key for. Great looking stairs. I guess my thought was this. About your railings. Does the beauty of the wood out-weight who will need them. (Their safety)

I though the trail you took looked wrong - the south side access, Brooke George trail, is easier to follow. It's tricky to find the trail since some rock slide wiped out a bit of the trailhead, but pretty easy to follow once you find it. Excellent summit ritual, BTW.

Birds, typically ducks in my area, swim in the lakes, and fish eggs, which are "designed" to be sticky, adhere to their legs and feathers. Then the birds fly over to other lakes and hang out there, thereby spreading fish eggs all over.

@The Samurai Carpenter Many animals and critters are relocated by other animals...via capture and drop, ride-alongs, or excrement. Some of the best fishing holes are remote, like the lake you hiked to, as humans haven't had an easy go of polluting, damaging natural habitations, or overfishing. Thanks for sharing your challenging, but rewarding hike. As always, your builds are top notch...but what happened to the mortise and tenon joints for the rails? ;-)
@Wademorgan1024 Жыл бұрын
The trout swim up, no joke. Little buggers make it up and take up residence in the lake to grow and be able to breed.
@rb9580 Жыл бұрын
Just this! Go to any remote spot on the planet and no matter how high you go, the fish have got there before you! Also we think of trout in terms of the guys that are big enough to eat, but for every one that gets to that size there are hundreds of minnow-sized ones living out their existence, with their size limited by water temperature and food availability. I once came across one of these wee guys swimming uphill up a bog where the water was only up to his lateral line. Their will to travel upstream is huge!

For the stair I had not to cover the end of the steps with a solid wide board, but instead notched it at every step. That way it's easier to shuffle the snow out on the side since the rise is fully covered. But maybe you don't have much snow in your neck of the woods.

The samurai doesn’t lose keys, the keys will find you with medication… I mean meditation! A wise old samurai once told me, “to find the key is to be the key.” He had dementia at the time, so don’t take his words, uh too seriously… In all seriousness, your stairs turned out amazing. You’ll find the keys soon, and if worst case you pay the manufacturer to send you a new set. Make a couple spares when you figure it out and put them in different locations, one in your truck, one at home, one in your pocket. Love the content, long time follower and love that you took a break from the regular video and made a day trip out of it. I’m from Utah and mountain lakes, although hard to climb to, are totally worth the journey!

Check the inside of the excavator especially under the seat and armrest! Also try any toolboxes and under the pedals! You're doing a great job on your homestead, those steps look heavenly but whatever you do don't let the boys start sliding down them. You definitely don't need to be pulling splinters out of bottoms? Knowing boys like I do they like to do silly things like that I used to be one, a daft lad I mean.

As for the views, stunning, absolutely beautiful and well worth the hike. Thank you for sharing that experience and saving me the walk oh and the airmiles. It's a bloody long flight from Southampton, Hampshire in the UK. Now get back to work, you slacker 😂😂😂 Nice looking staircase. How long did it take to build from the moment you first poured the foundation concrete to powering in the last screw? I almost forgot, what's the news on the outboard motor? Is it totally US, or can it be salvaged?
