Beautifully done. Taking the suckered off off the tree trunk is good for the tree. After printing wuth leaves, I let the paint dry on them. Before the leaf itself dries and curls, I press them in old books. They make pretty centers of interest for collage, especially the metallic ones.

Wow, 29% humidity, that sounds great! I'm enjoying our weather in NYC right now, warm during the day, cool at night, no oppressive humidity. We're at 63% now but it is much better than it was a month ago. Thanks for your video, was looking at all the different types of paints and I want to try these over the Liquitex acrylics. Also, I like picking my colors vs. getting a set so appreciate you listing the ones you used. At least the first five are on my wishlist.
@VikkiReed4 ай бұрын
Vonetta, thank you, I would really struggle with 63% humidity! I had no idea how lucky I was to have such low humidity so much of the time, at least when it comes to gelli printing. The Golden Fluid Acrylics are my favorite, but the Liquitex Soft Body pigments are a close second...just not the heavy body OR the Fluid Acrylics (by Liquitex)
@vonettadevo4 ай бұрын
@@VikkiReed Aah, another question - what is the biggest difference btw the Golden and Liquitex fluid acrylics? And yes, it takes some getting used to - 63% is much better than the summertime heat and humidity, relatively speaking.

@VikkiReed10 ай бұрын
lol, whoops, I know, sometimes I look back and think, “why didn’t I like that?” It’s pretty hard to create cards from the rice paper because it’s very hard to cut accurately, but you can apply it to birchwood panel and I have videos on that! Thanks for your comment and question!

@@Arianna1308yes! I love HP Premium 32 (copy paper). If you don’t want to invest in that you can go with 24 lb stock. Smooth papers pull the best prints, stock with “tooth” or texture gives a different effect, but I love the magic of a smooth paper which picks up the most from the Gelli Plate, happy printing!

You are using just Rice paper….will this all work with a heavier soft drawing or printmaking paper?
@VikkiReed4 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question! I have tried this with printmaking paper and although I've seen other artists make that work, in fact purchasing the recommended printmaking paper...I have not had success with it. If I am not printing with the rice paper (which is best for me anyway because the majority of my prints are used in mixed media pieces) I prefer the HP Premium 32 copy paper which is heavier, but still very smooth. If the paper has any "tooth" at all, it becomes more challenging to get a great print!

Hi Margaret, thanks for your question! You probably missed the words on the screen, I picked up residue with packing tape, twice!
