Egg wash it once before proofing, oil plastic wrap and cover while proofing and egg wash again before baking if you want a darker bake.

I have his first cookbook and every recipe I've made is amazing. For the last month I've cooked exclusively out of it as a meal plan! My spouse has become totally spoiled by whole food ingredients cooked fresh for every meal but one (NYC pizza night) all week long! I love that is seasonal too - allows me to make use of my own garden as it changes seasons right along with the book!

Na they only do that in Israel where the challah looks diff, more flat and less of a crust, this kind is cut with a knife. waiting for the challah to be cut while your starving to start eating is like the longest 30 seconds!!
