The 12 years of drama wouldn't have happened if Art and Patrick had the guts to rearrange each other's guts when they were 18 years old. 🤷🏾♀️

I LOVED every messy, complicated, toxic, co-dependent minute of this movie! Nothing cookie cutter about it at all. The cinematography - excellent. The music was used to make you feel the emotions of the characters versus the actual spoken dialogue. The time jumps were like a tennis match (back and forth). The ending was chef's kiss. Tashi said she just wanted to see some good f***ing tennis, and she got it PLUS the boys are back together again. Best movie I've seen in the last few years! 10/10

18:25 "If you don't win tomorrow, I'll leave you. Seriously, does that help?" HE WAS PRESSURING THAT OUT OF HER. That is not how she really feels, but Art seems to need that from her to actually care about tennis. He was the one coaxing that out of her. And I hate how many people seem to miss that.

I don't agree with this. He was insecure and asked for reassurance. She was the one constantly pressuring him and valued him only for his tennis. Of course he insisted on an answer to the question. I don't think she doesn't love him, but she is definitely the dominant partner in that marriage.
@internetgal38Ай бұрын
@@luiscalzoncit2820 he was insecure about not being able to play tennis anymore, mainly. He loves tennis but he's ready to quit. but he doesn't want to want that. He wants to keep going. Hes asking her as his coach for motivation. She TRIED saying the nice thing. Saying it doesn't matter. That she doesn't need his permission to quit. It wasn't enough. He kept pushing her to be mean to him to motivate him, and she finally caved in. Then, when it didn't help anything, they both had a sad moment together.
@luiscalzoncit2820Ай бұрын
@@internetgal38 No, she said he could quit if he wants. That he doesn't need her permission. What she didn't tell him was that she would love him still and that everything would be okay. That's what he wanted, and that she can't give.

To me the time jumps felt like it was mimicking a tennis match going back and forth.

Tashi's scar was shown in the opposite side at the beggining because we were watching her reflection on the mirror while she was gettung ready for the day. Ultimately I do think the most common conclusion from people is the truth: Patrick loves Art, Art loves Tashi and Tashi loves Tennis. It was hinted in some scenes that Patrick is bisexual. And while he was obviously sexually attracted to Tashi, all his tenderness and romanticism was directed towards Art and Art only.
@luiscalzoncit2820Ай бұрын
Also, I want to congratulate Luca Guadagnino and the three actors for pulling off eroticism and sensuality without ever showing a sex scene. The chemistry and tension between all these three people was insane.

Someone on Tumblr said Tashi is the *Earth* to Patrick and Art's *Fire and Ice.* ⛰️🔥🧊 Art x Patrick + No Tashi = They are steamy together, but they never feel comfortable enough to fully act on their romantic and sexual attraction towards one another. Patrick x Tashi + No Art = They are like a bushfire in the Australian summer. They burn bright and quick. They're like those couples who loudly break up in public only to get back together a month later. 😂 Tashi x Art + No Patrick = They are permafrost. Their relationship is solid yet cold. They'd never leave each other, but their marriage is essentially a tennis business deal. There was no sensuality nor passion there until Patrick was brought up. *All three of them need to be together to balance each other out.*

My head canon for what happens is that they become a throuple and after Art retires he & Tashi coach Patrick for one more season... also is the kid Patricks? They don't specify her age but it seems reasonable she could have been conceived around the Atlanta game.
@luiscalzoncit2820Ай бұрын
I don't think so, Atlanta was 8 years ago and the girl is like 5. Not exactly a toddler but not totally a "grown child" yet. ( i.e. grandmother spoon feeding her).
@f1mbultyrАй бұрын
The Kid is definitely Art's. Atlanta is too long ago. edit: But I agree about the head canon ending!
@internetgal38Ай бұрын
Luca said in an interview that after the movie ends they all go the hotel room 😭 so it's definitely throuple endgame. But I don't think Patrick is the father. The timeline doesn't really add up. Still, he'll definitely move in with them post movie and become a somewhat guardian figure to her lol
