I can happily spend a lot of time watching videos where Mattenet loses. Oh reminds me of the gentlemen of the game - the Timo Bolls, the Samsonovs, etc...

I love Oh's style and it's bonus points for beating Mattenet. Some of his celebrating really does my head in. It's like the arrogant show-off kid everyone hates at the local youth club.

You're right, Oh was humble, he didn't think he would easily win as we can notice that he seemed to be relieved for winning against Mattenet...

Say what you want about Mattenet's attitude and such, but you can't deny that his backhand loop away from the table is phenomenal 4:51

yeah, I think you're right, he can improve his forehand and he is not enough agressive that that's why he didn't win.However, his backhand is very impressive, hope we can see him more often.

Haha you think Mattenet wanted that one a little bit? Yeah he's very good..looking forward to seeing more of him.

France has a pretty good youth right now. I think in 4-5 years they will be a solid european top team after germany. Worldwide, i think China, korea, singapore and japan will stay far ahead though.

Mattenets backhand is very good!
@asr4el15 жыл бұрын
He plays a bit similar to Dima if you ask me, just with regular serves. He should improve his forehand a bit, but he'll go up in the rankings soon enough if he performs like this in a major tournament

Quel revers à 0:41 et quel chance à 3:54! Adrien Mattenet a sans doute l'un des meilleurs backhand du circuit, après bien sûr Kalinikos Kreanga.

In open, he reached 3 times the step of the last 16 doing good performance (Yang Zi, thiago Apolonia, Adrian Crisan...).He will certainly do better soon...

Never hear about Mattenet, but seems to be quite good. Imo he defends a bit too often; forehand isn't best yet but backhand looks almost perfect. Nice game.

@lolol801 No, I'm quite skinny actually. I dont know why you thought I was insulting them by calling them lanky, there's nothing wrong with being tall and having long limbs so I don't know why you consider lanky an insult.

I'd like to see Oh been defeated. Players in top rank have a diva like behavior against others who are low ranked. I'll never forget Kenta almost winning Ma Lin. Defeats between low-high ranking players are "necessary" because they bring down to earth top players and give a chance to previously unknown players to show up. My opinion...

I just really do not like Mattenets attitude. He seems like he's extremely full of himself. Great player, but the way he yells after some points sounds very rude, and when he misses a shot he acts as if he's not giving the other player any credit for hitting a nice shot. He just seems to think that he's the best in the world or something, and he has no respect for other players. I didn't even see his hand go up after that edge that he got from the lob.

@xkaboomx I have had look again the video but Adrien is not too rude. In Champions league and professional game, player should be more aggressive and concentrate on the game itself. If player is too polite then he or she might lose the game. Timo Boll is too polite. That's why he is currently not number one. Ma Lin is really rude I think. That's why he can do concentrate on the game and win the game. Anyway I hate rude people.

@hjw1217 zhang jike is ruder. the rudeness helps put off players like timo boll - you can see it in the wttc - jike does annoying things before each crucial point, that you can see are meant to take away bolls concentration - this rudeness isnt why zhang won - it was just unnecessary bad sportsmanship

Singapore isn't far ahead of European teams like Germany or Austria. And neither is Japan. Only China and Korea are better.
