BV held that phone for an hour and half to give that presser. An hour and half of holding a phone at arm's length and relatively still so that his video comes through! I think if you added all of Lincoln's pressers together over the past five years, you wouldn't get as many honest and open answers out of those five years you did in an hour and a half. I think he spent something like 20 minutes alone on one question about SOUL from Jenni Carlson IIRC. Amazing.

Idek man... already a better class without him then he ever had... his defenses were just plain bad. I would take a team that can guarantee teams won’t get to 20 points over a team that guarantees that we’ll score 60. A tough defense that has an offense that goes on long methodical drive is what we need. Efficiency and complementary is what we need. Keep that defense fresh and walk down the field calm and collected to put up 30ish points. Much like Georgia this year

Hi guys, great show as always! Could you tell us how a scholarship works? We see players verbally commit, then change to another school, but once they “sign”, just what the hell are they signing? Is it an actual contract, like in the NFL? With the portal, it seems like the contract only requires the school to live up to their end, but the player can leave anytime they want? Why don’t the schools make players sign contracts that force the kids to play all games, including bowl games and keep them from transferring?

But, I thought the issue was that coaches, Universities, tV networks,and the NCAA we’re making all the money off the kids, YET, the NCAA, TV networks, etc aren’t the ones paying the kids. It’s donor money. Doesn’t make any sense.

Shawn James, where you been brother, glad to see you are still alive and kicking. Bennie Owens is a great foundational coach at Oklahoma, he did not win a National Championship. The implication is that there are 7 National Championships between (3) of those coaches and Brent Venables will bring some (NCs) home to Oklahoma. The love of God dynamic will be foundational in lives of his players and the football program. Fake competition is not necessary. Micah Bowen is good enough to win now and do not count him out. Perrion Winfrey was cheated by Grinch and his little linemen schematic and that cardio workouts. I love when a man wears a suit and a nice pair of leather shoes. We also need to get some hair cuts and shaves as part of dressing for success, but I am old school. Lincoln Riley is a hypocrite and SABOTAGE Oklahoma’s season with his lack of play calling this season. Lincoln Riley was deceptive and a flat out liar while at Oklahoma. NIL are the rules now and we got to get in the game. When I was coaching, I was always willing to function within the given rules with integrity, it is as simple as that. OU cannot go by old clichés and function under the old rules are we will allow Texas to get the top talent in the country. It is always about the competition. If Texas is paying offensive linemen $50,000 a year, we should find a way to pay $75,000 a year. Nick Saban recruited a pretty good classes at Michigan State, LSU, and Alabama. Saban’s disposition is the epitome of a great football coach.

I think an EQUITy push is the flavor of the times so I can see that coming down the pike. Perhaps performance equity could be achieved by ranking the high school recruits and the #1 goes to the worst college team, like the NFL.
@robh_tex2 жыл бұрын
Not going to happen... Collegiate athletics still has the "student" element and the NCAA is never going to be able to dictate where a student athlete goes to earn their degree. For example, what if the "worst college team" is from a school that doesn't offer what you want to major in, doesn't run the scheme you fit in, has a coaching staff you don't connect with, and isn't in a part of the country where your family can regularly see you play in person? NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
@gincain79882 жыл бұрын
@@robh_tex I agree but making a point that if they are student athletes then why are we moving in a direction away from that. Caleb Williams’ dad said it best. My son is going to college to be an NFL quarterback. Is there such a degree? Most players will not make it to the NFL and of those that do only a small number will get the big money. If they are student athletes then a free degree should be enough but that is not where we are at anymore
@willcover61422 жыл бұрын
Why would you have an equity program. That the opposite of meritocracy which is how our country rose above the rest. The best performers get the most merit, ie pay etc. In this case, the winning programs and those that develop players for nfl get the best recruits. Merit based rewards create the best product,most innovation, etc. The way you get the rewards is by being better, working harder, working smarter etc.
