I personally toured this home and it is wonderful! Here are the things that I asked the rep: 1) Can they put a farm door across the entrance to the two bedrooms upfront. The kids didn’t like passing thru to the bathroom and being seen by anyone in the living room. 2) The office being turned into a large pantry and window changed to a door. We get our meat freshly cut and I want it brought upstairs to go straight in my large freezer in the pantry. Also, it works great with a lot of groceries and BBQ on the porch, which we will build on the outside of this door. Otherwise, will have to take your meat and go thru the utility room to get out back. 3) A sink and doggy shower in the utility room. I need a sink for laundry and washing hands coming from out back. 4) the small closet between the 3rd bedroom and master to be opened up as a pass-through to the in-law suite room in the back and French doors to replace the window so we can have a proper way to get to the backyard without going through the pantry or utility room. These things can all be done, at an extra cost of course. As long as you don’t change the footprint of the home, you can swap change it! Also, the reps are very nice and helpful! We spent hours there touring homes. They even invite you and the family out to see the house at different points of the progress at their facility, because they build it their. Also, they showed us the inside joints and other materials that they use that makes their homes stand out from all the rest and why most of their homes have survived earthquakes. Impressive company!

We have been super happy with our palm harbor home and feel they are worth the price tag. I think ours came out to be $270,000 when we bought it. We have it pit set on 230 acres in Oregon.

All homes should be ready for future or present disabilities. Or a good set up to support unexpected disability. Things do happen. Homes should be designed to support injury, disability, illness, accidents and aging. A nice therapeutic walk - in jet tub for back surgery or neuropathy would be a plus. A pet bath room would also be really cool.
@amysiemens50614 жыл бұрын
I, too, look at these mobile or manufactured homes with accessibility in mind. Most accessible ones I’ve seen are single wides with open floor plans and only one bedroom. Why do you think I keep bringing up those narrow hallways and narrow doors to bathrooms and closets and toilets in water closets, because it is too small for a wheel chair. I know that when you’re young you don’t think that one day you might become disabled. I’m sure they can sub in a walk in tub and grab bars and 5’ space around the toilet by leaving off the tiny room called a water closer and making the vanity smaller for a price. Probably it is cheaper doing this before anything gets put in than after. To make the home 100% accessible will not work unless it is being furnished for you because the sinks need to be a certain height and they need to put 8” space under cabinets for front wheels to fit, thereby fewer drawers and cabinets. Also they would need to do roll-in showers so water doesn’t go all over the place for those who cannot stand. Many of the closets are a weird shape. A straight closet with barn doors with lower rods and cubbies in the middle or sides make it easier to keep clothes. Rooms and hallways should all be straight so a wheelchair can get in and out, many are angled making it difficult for chairs to maneuver around corners. Many of the front doors are a good 2-3’ off the ground due to the tire hardware under the home with no roof. Unless you own your own land, ramping might be difficult particularly if you want the 1:12 grade and 5’ turnaround. Many of the mobile home parks are narrow and just enough space for the home.

We had two wonderful boys and a beautiful new Grandson. We both had wonderful jobs Life was good and then we found out my husband had cancer. He died 2 months and three days after he was diagnosed. I would closed off the in-law suite from the flex room and remove that hallway closet next to the master bedroom door and that closet in the flex room. So I can walk directly into the flex room from the halfway. Then I would add french doors on the outside wall in the flex room so that I can be able to put a really large back deck onto the house and be able to walk straight outside. that's what I would do.
@valeriehurt30504 жыл бұрын
@@Justswagdifferent that would probably be the most adequate plan. Thanks my dear for the brilliant idea!!! 🤗🤗🤗

Of ALL the homes you have shown, this is THE BEST one of every one. Change the front door and add covered back deck with a fireplace and it’s perfect. The exterior isn’t the greatest but inside looks like a real home. Close to Puuuurfect
@chanceshomeworld3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Pam!
@juliewatson22813 жыл бұрын
Change the outside by putting up shutters. Add a French door or two to a big wrap around deck. Create area on it that is screened in so you aren’t chewed to death at night. I thought of a fireplace being substituted for those barn door entries to the game room too. Make it open on both ends. A real working fireplace with bookcases on either side of the fireplace in both rooms. You keep pillar/wall ceiling supports, just create your in-house fireplace. You have the space for it though price may be an ouch.

I know this is an old video, but I have been meaning to let you know that I enjoy your opening various cabinets and drawers in each of the homes. I enjoy seeing if there are built-ins, how deep they are, etc. I am a huge fan of listening to you speak of your family while you tour the houses. Keep up the great work! Now I understand everyone has their favorite style or size. For me, I love open floor plans, covered porches, pot fillers, and a pantry is a must. I have long dreamt of having a laundry/utility room with a spacious space for folding clothes. Thank you for all you do, your dad jokes, and always aiming to give everyone as much info as you can about the different styles of homes.

The only complaint I have on the La Belle IV model (the one you showed) is that the In-Law Suite is right next to the master bedroom. I wouldn't want my parents or my spouse's parents in the bedroom right next to me. I'd rather have them down the hallway with the other guest/kids bedrooms.

That price for a manufactured home is not expensive. The way this house was constructed is made with better materials than most manufactured homes today. A house built from scratch by a contractor would be anywhere from $240,000 to 500,000 depending on what part of the country you live in. The west coast and east coast are the most expensive from my experience.
