Thank you for spreading the love for historical romance! It's my favorite genre and I wish more new readers would give it a chance. Also, Julie Anne Long is UNMATCHED. 😍

Jeannie Lin is on my must read ASAP! I got one of her books this summer and met her at SteamyLit Con. All the premises sound amazing. Homegoing has stayed in my mind since I read it. Glad you found historical fiction you like!

The Echo of Old Books by Barbara Davis has a dual plot, multi point of view that was really well written

Just realised what a die hard fan I am😄 have read most of these books as soon as you recommended them. Avoided Home going cause as a Nigerian, a bit too real for me. Will check out Heartless Hunter.

Loved hearing your fave books of 2024! Here are some of the books I read this year and last year that I really enjoyed - Human Acts by Han Kang, That's Not My Name by Megan Lally, Grass by Keum Suk Gendry-Kim, We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer, The Wingman by Stephanie Archer, Face Off by Chelsea Curto, Play Along by Liz Tomforde, We Were Dreamers by SImu Liu, Bride by Ali Hazelwood, The Fake Out by Stephanie Archer, and The Red Palace by June Hur. I think I added most of these to your best books form🥰

Heartless Hunter was my biggest surprise 5 star this year 🎉🎉

I read heartless hunter earlier this year and I lovedddd it! I filled out the form but my best book of the year was the shining by Stephen king. I have previously read IT by him and was not a fan of the writing style and how dragged out it felt but the shining was truly mind blowing. The writing was so gripping and devastating. I would love to hear you read it and give your thoughts and feelings!

A lot of great choices here, thanks for sharing. I think I'm still trying to decide what my top choice is, but I think This Could Be Us is among my top choices, top three for sure.

I enjoyed reading a lot of the most anticipated books this year but one that I wasn’t expecting that was really just fun and entertaining was Hate Mail by Donna Marchetti. I’m a sucker for epistolary romance and this one didn’t disappoint! I’d love if anyone could share any recs!

I loved my Season of Scandal so much! I love yearning and longing in my romance. Have you read We are The Brennans by Tracey Lange? It has so much pining and yearning in more of a contemporary family setting. It was tied for my favorite book of the year.

Books I loved this year that you haven't read (spoiler alert: there aren't many you haven't read 😂) are The Will of the Many by James Islington and Bourbon and Lies by Victoria Wilder

Can someone recommend books similar to "bride"! New to fantasy romance genre, but since "bride" couldn’t find anything as interesting.

Going to start Bride today!! ❤

I enjoyed Hazelwood's most famous Love Philosophy, but DNF'd Bride (I was warned it would be different). It does the romantasy trope of a strong female character negotiating fantasy politics, but that and the monster sex was not for me.

Can My Season of Scandal be read as a standalone or do you have to read the series? I think that’s why I always hesitate to pick up historical romances is because they are usually like number 10 of 27 lmfao
