I reread a lot of books in February. I read 16 books and dnf 2 books. Both books I dnf were most anticipated reads. They were The Kindred by Alechia Dow and Twisted Hate by Ana Huang. 8 out of the 16 were rereads. I gave 1 book 2 stars the lowest rating of the year so far. 2 were like 3.5 but I rounded them up too 4 stars, but thinking about lower them to 3 stars. Because I can't remember what they were about. 3 books were six stars, which means favorite of the year. And I can't remember what I gave the rest that weren't rereads. I did give House Of Sky and Breath 6 stars, because I just love Sarah's characters and I just know I am going to get what I love out of her writing. I know she's not for everyone but I just having the time of my life with her characters. Plus I am more character driven than plot driven. And I freaking am in love with Ruhn and Ithan, my Wolfe!!!!! I read a lot of poetry this February. I guess since it's the month of love, I'm always in the mood of that, but I did read plenty of good novels during the month. I have a thing with Colleen Hoover novels in which I really want to like them when I pick them but but I remember why I can't read the first few chapters. Her books don't flow with me so I get where you're coming from. Oh and I really don't understand why people read Sarah J Maas books. I tried reading and the starts to the novels are always sooooooo boring!

I watched this video only to hear your thoughts on MYOF&R, I also read it in February and had high expectations for it. I agree that it’s difficult to read a book where there are no likable characters but I also think it makes it interesting, I got bored at times and ended up going for the audiobook to make it easier but I finished it because Ottessa’s writing is really special, the way she described things and emotions and everything made me want to keep going and finish it. THE ENDING THOUGH, I could see it coming from a mile away (and I’m not great at guessing what’s gonna happen in books). I knew what was going to happen but I wanted to see HOW she was going to integrate it in the story, and yeah it was kinda disappointing, but it would have been better (or worse?) if you actually cared about this people, and I didn’t care about a single one of them.

I am 350 pages into House of Sky and Breath and think the first 200 pages could be edited...heavily. Also, how are each of these books exactly 800 pages? It must be a requirement from the publisher. In my humble opinion, there is no reason for this genre of book to be 800 pages long. I agree with you that it's trying to be epic fantasy--but it's not. I think it's to justify the page count. I'm going to say this is urban fantasy romance.
