The price increases are now at a point that I feel embarrassing/stupid/irresponsible to buy these overpriced bags. I also don’t wanna wear 5-8k bags for every day use or catching up with friends (look like showing off), special occasions are rare these days, even if bought at 3-5k.

Apparently Chanel has noticed that people pay over inflated prices 💰 💰💰on the preloved market, so they’re raising their prices too. I’ll still flex my mini rectangular Chanel, and/or small Boy bag, no matter 🤷🏽‍♀️ as my friends are oblivious to the cost of the bag anyway. I’m glad I purchased my Chanel bags preloved in 2017/18 - when you could find them NWTs at a reasonable price. With the increases, I’d never sell them 😊

I am content with my Chanel handbag collection. I love the CF but i wont be buying any color any size with these prices because they are just not worth it. My bag collection has beautiful bags from other fashion houses that i love carrying and they dont break any bank: Moynat, Celine, Loewe, Fendi, even my Polene Paris Neuf feels luxurious and different enough to make me feel special.

There are so many other reputable luxury companies that are worth our hard earned money. I have noticed the fragrances don’t seem to be lasting like they used to. The bags are of poor quality, because they are mass produced.. as much as I love Chanel it’s not worth the time and the stress. Go vintage or go without. myself I am looking at other luxury brands. That care about their customers.

I want another Chanel bag , but REFUSE to give in to their greed. I won’t buy pre loved. I need to find another brand to fall in love with. I have loved Chanel for a long time, but I’m totally turned off by the brand for so many reasons. Would love for you to do a segment on bags that are classic looking other than Chanel. I was done with Chanel bags after the last price increase. They’re not on my radar any more, too greedy. I still like Chanel beauty but if they start with ridiculous increases there as well I’ll be quick to cut them off. I think you’re right, they had something to do with closing your Insta accounts. Oh boy I was mad about the price increase on the Les Exclusifs especially because at the end of December I went into a Chanel boutique to buy Coromandel and I asked if the perfume will increase in the new year. I figured they would tell me because I definitely would have bought more if I knew. But the SA said "Oh no of course not, the price isn't going to change anytime soon." I don't think she was intentionally lying but that the perfume dept wasn't really her area and she didn't know they went up last year in Europe. So, I went ahead and ordered 200ml of the remaining ones I want from Europe, where the conversion puts the current European the same as the U.S. prices before the increase. Still pretty annoyed to have to order from Europe what I could have bought for the same price nearby just a week earlier! But this way I am done with what I wanted from the collection and won't be buying another thing at the currently inflated U.S. price.

For the preorder, I hope you reserved with the increased price as there's no 'locking the price' with Chanel 😁 I heard with Saks, you need 50% deposit when reserving (at least handbags) and probably will pay the other half and the difference if the price increase occurs in between when you get the bag!

There is no pre paying in stand-alone chanel boutiques. They do not allow it. What Saks does is their policy and not chanel's. You also have the right to back out of the pre order this way. I am not obliged to buy the piece once it arrives... but the repercussions for that might be that if I wanted to pre order something again in the future, the boutique staff would probably tell me they will not do it since I did not buy the piece I pre ordered in the past. Pre orders, if you have to pay in advance a part or the total, means that that price is LOCKED in and the shop cannot change the price later on in time for you. They have to honor the price you paid for. Thats why chanel does not accept pre payments.

Saks policy is just from what I heard, but I doubt that they will honor the previous price... It sounds like that you have established good relationships with your FA, BA and boutiques, so I am sure they'd not say no for future pre-orders for you deciding against just once or even a few times :)

In Canada, a 200ml of les exclusifs is 460$ CDN + tax. In Toronto, at that price plus tax comes to $520. If it increases again, I don’t know if I’ll ever buy Chanel perfume again. That’s too much for me. Love your content Dacob. !
