Hi guys! I wanted to get this video up this week since the 22K was just released. Is it just me or are the prices of bags going crazy? I felt a little sick spending this kind of money on a tiny bag, but I justified it by saying to myself that I have been wanting this bag for a long time and it’s a style that can be enjoyed by me and then gifted to my children at later time. How are you feeling about spending money on luxury bags these days? Are the prices out of control and does that stop you from buying? Yes, no idea how I got so lucky - if you call spending that amount of money lucky😅 I’d only met my SA once before, two years ago when I bought my only other Chanel bag (another mini reissue), and I’d not been back since then. I was sure he didn’t remember me but texted him anyway honestly figuring my chances were nil. So imagine my shock when he texted me that his boutique had gotten one in (the only one) and offered it to me! 😮 BTW, do you store it on its side? My other reissue mini has a fairly stiff bottom and can sit upright on the shelf when empty but the bottom of this one is softer and more folded.

Congratulations Maggie! I'm dreaming of owning this bag too but I'm ghw. I'm just not sure if I'll still be biting the bullet since the price now is higher than the price I paid for my medium flap and capucine! It's crazy! It will be my most expensive bag and its a mini lol.

Hi Kate! I know exactly what you mean about the crazy prices. I just bit the bullet and bought it since the preloved market prices are even higher than retail and I've been thinking of this bag for a long time. That said, it's a crazy, stupid price for what it is. I love it, but I do need to downsize significantly. To be honest with you, I'm still not sure that it's worth the price. 🤔

Congratulations, very happy for you. I got the same so black mini reissue in 2020 by coincident. My SA found the last piece in the store room. it's calf skin, very sturdy, after 2 years, it still looks brand new. I have a few minis, this is the most understated, i use this most.

I have the same bag from 2020. The so black mini reissue is one of my most worn bags. The reissue is my favorite from Chanel. The calfskin is so lux, but more durable than lambskin and I love that it’s so understated. I currently have 3 reissues in my collection and would add another in another color Great add to your collection!!!

Every time I use my reissue I hv so many compliments about it and my friend also chased it from second hand market! She got her this year with marked up price. Do you notice that inside the chain some angle has rainbow effect? (20A hv it)

The prices are crazy (I felt a little sick buying this bag too - when I think about how much they’re charging for a leather bag). I had to keep telling myself that the price will probably continue to go up in these “classic” pieces, and eventually, these are classic pieces which can be enjoyed by me and then handed down to my kids. IMHO, If someone really loves Chanel will not worry if the item doesn’t hold it’s value or about PI. Price increases are inevitable, and that should only teach us to be smarter with our purchases. Boomer is 14 1/2 years old and losing muscle mass and starting to pee randomly inside the house occasionally (which he never did before), but it’s just part of aging and I’m trying to engage him and exercise him as much as he wants to. He’s hanging in there and still has a good appetite. 🤞🤞.

Thanks Jen! I was super excited but also a little sick in the stomach thinking about how expensive these things are now. I have a lot of ambivalent feeling about buying luxury these days - one the one hand, I love them, and on the other hand, the prices have gone up waaaay too high for what they are, and then on the other hand, I only live once, not going on debt to get these things and have worked super hard for years and it’s time to enjoy some of my labor. But, I am enjoying using the bag (it’s tiny though and I had to downsize) and can’t wait to use it during my vacation trips! 😎

So happy for you! 🎉 The so black is so chic! 👍 We are sort of bag twins- I have the reissue so black chevron 226. Love how the hardware reflects light and how it’s understated but feels luxurious. Agree, I prefer it over classic quilting and over the other metals too. Only thing is the chain tends to be slippery if wearing a blouse. Also Maggie, do not use leather conditioner on aged calfskin. I used a tiny bit of the Cadillac leather conditioner on my new bag to protect it and give it a slight sheen. It sort of “relaxed” the texture of the aged calfskin softening it and appeared less wrinkled and less durable. Regretted doing that, ironic since when I got it I went to 4 boutiques to find this piece in the smoothest, least wrinkled aged leather. I liked it aged but not too aged, lol. Anyway, enjoy your beautiful, chic new bag!❤

OMG, I didn’t know about the effect of the leather conditioner on aged calfskin! Thank you so much for telling me! I definitely will not use it. I saw another black chevron so black at the store, but it had a significant indentation mark on the back bottom corner and this one had the normal slight wrinkling. But I agree with you - I like some wrinkling but not too much. Thanks again for your tip! 💕
