the bag broke accurately, the paper is weaker in a place where the crease/fold is, from how most of paper bags are stored

I've made several purchases thru Chanel website over the last month, including 3 of the gift sets and 2 No 5 twist and sprays. I request the holiday packaging on all of them. None came with the holiday packaging. All were in the white Chanel box with the holiday ribbon, but none were in the white and gold packaging and none included the charm. I'm so disgusted. I sent a note to Chanel asking why and was told they package in whatever is available???? I asked why they include the option to request the holiday packaging when they're not actually providing it. I'm thoroughly disgusted with Chanel right now. Chanel ain't what it used to be. PS: I previously posted this comment but don't see it. My apology if it is a duplicate.

Hi Dacob! 🤗 This video reminded me that I have a collection of Chanel shopping bags that I enjoy. Some people make fun of me because I collect them, but it's fun and makes me happy. A couple of them are rare and are probably about 20 years old or older. I guess there are worse things I could collect 😂.

Cardboard / paper bags are crapola. The other end of the retail scale completely, but Primark brown paper bags disintegrate in the rain as well XD I've had items fall out the bottom and it doesn't even take a lot of moisture either!

I’d say that the majority of buyers (myself included) throw these little bags out. Tbh I’m thrilled they disintegrate. That way when they end up in landfill we can be grateful. At least Chanel is being environmentally friendly in this regard. Just my opinion. Thanks for the video.

May I put forward that no-one is saying that the primary product purchased is the to-go bag; however, when you're buying luxury goods, the packaging (including shopping bags) that come along with it are all meant to be incorporated into the luxury experience. This is the reason there are SAs etc., it's all manufactured/designed to 'theoretically' encourage the customer to have a high-quality experience to reinforce their purchase. What Dacob and Nicole are pointing out is that by providing cheaply-made shopping bags that they place goods purchased for upwards of hundreds if not, thousands, of dollars in and claiming the name of sustainability, it negates the essence of luxury. Not only is it bad because it is false, but also because it potentially damages the products due to its designed weakness and also essentially devalues the customer and the luxury experience as if saying, "now that you've purchased from us, we don't care about you or our own products". From a purely economic standpoint, this is probably saving Chanel money in the short-run, but for an industry that depends strongly upon the image of prestige, it is an obvious misstep.

I think the weight of the product combined with the pouring rain caused the bag to rip in that way. From personal experience, I went shopping for new underwear at Victoria’s Secret/Pink and on my way back home was caught in the rain. Pink has these paper shopping bags, not coated in plastic like VS. Anyway, next thing you know, the down pour caused the bag to get soaked and rip. All my new underwear on the street. Imagine the scene. It wasn’t funny then, but it’s hilarious to reflect back now. My point being that underwear isn’t even as heavy as some beauty products, like creams, foundations, etc. So it’s possible. I wonder if they started filming that they got caught in torrential rain as visitors. It might be one of their first times experiencing it and wanted to capture the experience perhaps? People seem to want to film everything these days and Dubai was in the news for hotels and buildings leaking so badly because they weren’t prepared for some of the storms in the recent past.

I live under a rock I hadn’t heard about this lol. I’m wondering if she decided to leave the box behind and purchased something like sublimage eye serum or lumier face serum. I own both and the bottle could look like that, the white one in glass. It comes in a gold box. I’m sure you know, but perhaps she’s traveling and decided to leave the packaging at the store? So cool that you deconstructed the bag for us! This is like judge Judy 😂💖 I can’t speak for the black thing poking out of the other bag. Just giving her the benefit of the doubt that she’s traveling and perhaps left the boxes behind in the store and had them take the plastic off. Perhaps not to break her nails 💅 😂. I’m so trusting I just want to believe. Also, as a sidenote, my little freebie goodies are paper this year. Last year I got the rouge 31 ornaments that look like a compact. Made out of like ceramic and a mirror on the other side. This year I got a paper ornament. I spent so much money at the beauty boutique this year, including a pair of runway sunglasses. I could’ve bought a classic flap 😂 they give me some perfume and a paper ornament as a freebie 😂 they are so brilliant at marketing. I still won’t stop. I’m hoping for a snow globe to appear in the mail magically😂💖

This is, like, the worst paper bag of all time. Chanel won’t be able to maintain their long-term desirability if they continue on this path of cheap, poor-quality and flimsy products and packaging. Luxury is supposed to mean something. Give Chanel 10 or 15 years of putting out the same poor-quality stuff and lackluster designs, and they will no longer be a major player in luxury fashion. RIP Karl, and RIP quality.😢 I’ll definitely avoid shopping at Chanel. I prefer to seek “value for money” in luxury purchases.

Dacob is right - this looks rigged, and Chanel should take legal action. That hole that is in the lower right-hand corner looks like it was intentionally punctured by a mini umbrella. I could understand ONE bag structurally failing, but how did the bag with the hole on THE SIDE get saturated? And seeing that the bottom of the paper bags are REINFORCED by cardboard, I would say that this scenario is sus AF.
