Managed to get a sample. I just love the opening. That burst of citruses and flowers! Drydown is mellow and warm like liquid sunshine.

This fragrance is so curious and unexpected. Is SO different! I had the same sensation, the first time when I tried, I felt myself back into 80s. I was thinking about 80s history. And you're so right about another fragrances: nobody can't tell you which fragrance is better for you, if one is better than other, if any sales person tell you this is because he/she wants to sell, nothing else. A fragrance is your personal signature!

People often ask me if I think they would like a fragrance and that makes me a little ...crazy. LOL. Fragrance always connects to our feelings from the very basic primal to the abstract and intellectual... somewhere in there is that magic zone of dreams. Yes feelings is a good way to go to express what a fragrance is all about. So the thing that makes me hesitate is that it is described on Fragantica as a Fruity Floral...OY!! you know I hate that. But here you are saying it is benzoin, creamy, balmy. Luxurious...but not suntan lotion. so I am thinking that Fragantica is way off. So I may pull the trigger. I do miss my local SF CHANEL boutique ...just minutes from my old apartment. Now I am an hour from the CHANEL in Seattle... I'm now rambling. LOL. (I'm writing as you talk... a conversation!) LOL. Mother Nature is not maternal... She will live on long after us until the Sun consumes her. I so enjoyed your review. Stream of consciousness in the form of a perfume review. Bravo.

I bought Riviera last Sept as I fell in love immediately and ever since have not been able to wear any other of my perfumes. It just makes me happy. Almost as much as the smell of gardenias... Almost. if only gardenias could be made in a successful perfume....

Thank you very much for your review. I was lucky to get a sample today. It reminds me a bit of the discontinued Le b. from agnès b. from 1987! Mostly because of de neroli i guess. And you make me want to smell cyclamen in the woods as soon as I can 😄! Didn't know at all, that they have a certain smell.

What an amazing review ! You have evoked such a wonderful visualization/sensation. I wore YSATIS in the day. I remember being intrigued when I smelled it. The perfumer did not create a simple fragrance. They wanted you to think about it.

I was planning to get Biarritz I wanted a playful daytime modern fragrance, something for going out on the weekend where I would not use my granny or mature gentleman fragances that I use for the office, so I came across on a very good deal for Dior´s LA COLLE NOIRE and for me It was fine instead of getting Biarritz but then I got a good deal on Riviera and I got it too, so both are very similar in the opening of course if you're really really into perfumery you will say they're different but they go the same direction with different dry down, Riviera being a EDT is in the same league as La Colle Noire form Maison Christian Dior and also is more economic, I will not get rid of any of them because I enjoy both regardless of it similarity. Highly recomend this Freshie with the Chanel quality, better than BLUE, Platinum egoiste or the Allures

Those restrictions are worldwide: you can't (shouldn't) ship things above a certain alcohol content, as it would be flammable, and would, as such, require special packaging and shipping.

Ehhhm... you do understand that what you just said means that you can send alcohol if you wrap it accordingly... The New Zealand laws prohibit alcohol exportation for imprt/export tax reasons. Not really for safety as much.
