In this modern day it is not hard to be independently to hold on to one's subjective preference. Did you know they aren't allowed to use adhesives to make those beautiful models? After a couple of years of slaving away at these models she said, "One thing I learned is that people enjoy looking at anything they realize took someone a long time to make." I think that is part of the joy of luxury. Each Hermes' Birken is the work of a single skilled craftsman and takes him 18 hours to complete and it is even longer for some exotic skins like American alligator. Yes we as humans love looking at Birkens, the pyramids, Stone Hedge, and 5th year architecture student studio work.

Great video! I had to make sure my Chanel wasn’t fake. The hardware on my strap (buttons) isn’t identical. My logo is vertical but, one seems deeper embossed than the other. However, I know it is real because I have a personal relationship with my SA. This was scary though.

My wife bought one of those chanel bags weeks ago. We thought it was real and when we tried to sell it in a store they told us it was fake we really thought it was real because we got the bag even with the receipt of the store that was bought on france. I still cannot tell if the mini stingray boy bag from fashionphile is real or not. The dust bag which comes with look suspicious and also the bag comes with a Chanel belt box. I don’t know why 90% of the stingray bag from that time period at pre- love market doesn’t come with box. However, many owners show their stingray boy bag which got from store actually come with a box. 😔 I’m so tired. It’s sad they don’t produce exotic anymore. I will rather buy full price from store than deal with super fake and have mental stress out.

The worse is to sell a CZ as real. I lose earrings so no way will I ever buy real diamonds, although I am tempted by the price of the lab grown ones. :)) Anyway I won't wear screw ons because I value my ear lobe more than my earrings no matter the cost and I have seen the damage earrings can do. But to sell CZs as diamonds is despicable. It is theft by deception and I hate a thief.

My daughter had her bike stolen at college along with a number of other students. The thieves took the entire rack and the bikes chained to it and put it in a large step van and drove away. She was more upset for a girl she didn't even know who owned a beautiful retro looking bike with a basket. She said the girl took such good care of the bike and my daughter started crying. It made me sick. When these women find out a bag they spent thousand on is fake, they are genuinely hurt. It isn't just money either. It is the feeling of being taken. So no the bags aren't "exactly" the same. I don't judge women who carry fakes - good for them. But I do judge people who knowingly misrepresent replicas as authentic. Intent is everything.

Be a little more stealth and pretend you actually bought something and say the actual price. I know you hate to commit to a price or show your cards to that extent but consumers want to show off what they know or brag about what they bought. So a consumer might say something like, "I got a Kelly 25 in bleu nuit with gold hardware for only 700 dollars, but I got a special deal on a bag they had in stock. I wanted bleu saphir but doing a special order was more expensive." or say, "I am planning on ordering one as a gift to myself when I get my bonus this year. " I can get a Birkin 35 for 1200.00 but with the special art work like in the video it would run me another 300 dollars depending on the design." (By the way, I made the figures up whole cloth.) Nice! 😊 Yes, Chanel Boy seems to be very popular and Chanel has kept it as one of its staples, bringing out new variants every season. I don’t usually think of bags as “investments” because obviously there are hefty cost (consignment fees etc) to selling one in the future. But if you mean in terms of retaining value, then yes I think the boy fits that category. 😊

I recently bought my first “pre-loved” bag. It’s the boy enchained from 2014 reissue according to the serial number. It seems to be authentic when comparing to my bags purchased from the boutiques directly, but there is a tiny difference in the logo color inside that I’m not sure of because it may have faded perhaps with time. My question to you is, for the toggle lock on the inside where the peg goes through to the front, should it be stamped with “Chanel” or is that plain because it’s inside and not seen?

But I did noticed the 2nd or bottom lower hardware button on the strap is able to loosen and twist out the screw . Is this normal? The CZ and diamond comparison was a terrible analogy. Diamonds aren’t at all worth their price and depreciate so quickly on a secondhand market. Diamonds literally hold little to no value once you buy it compared to what you paid. You can buy Chanel replicas 1:1 for 1-2k that are exactly the same.

Fake or real. I don't see a problem selling and buying replica bags, as long as it's either disclosed as such, or you buy from the streets of NYC and you should know better that it's not authentic. The problem is when an entity tries to sell a replica as the real deal, and charges the price of a genuine. Then it's just straight fraud. Look, not everyone is going to be able to afford a real $6K Chanel, but if someone wants to buy a really nice $500 replica, and enjoy the look, then go for it. The ones sold on the streets of NYC are not going to even be the quality of the $500 replicas.
