She thought that style was not a matter of money , only fashion is a matter of money and Coco hated fashion . She said fashion was for stupid people, while style was for intelligent people . If you like the style of the fake bag then get the fake bag . Fake means nothing, it only means that you refuse , like Gabrielle, to spend a million on jewelry because you can appear just as stylish wearing fake jewelry , A bad imitation which does not respect the style of chanel is a stupid purchase but a super fake which respect every detail except the ones nobody is going to notice , is a terrific purchase especially if it didn't cost you 1/100 of the real deal. Fake doesn't necessarily mean , lack of quality , it only means made by a different person . And if you knew how terrible the quality is in France this days in the little atelier , you might think twice before spending 4000 dollars on a bag .

If you submitted an essay at university and I submitted the exact one but changed two words, it's called plagiarism... a copy is a copy, it's better for someone to buy a quilted Chanel inspired bag, then be fooled into buying a complete replica. Some people don't even know they're buying a fake and for them it's unfair. People who make fakes to mislead others are in no way respecting the original design. If one cannot afford to spend that kind of money, why not buy an unbranded well made inspired bag that pays the workers good money to produce it? At the end of the day, whether it's fake or not the fashion house wins as the branding is still advertised fake or real!

I get not wanting to pay stupid amounts of money for a bag, but fakes are NOT a good alternative. There's no regulation of how/where they're made and who makes them (ie. Child labour, poor working condition etc) Just get dupes of similar styles instead of fakes, it's unethical on so many levels

I am confused. I have been looking at hundreds of different Chanel bags, mostly used. This particular bag I was interested in is Chanel Portobello. All Portobello bags that I found have stitching on their straps like the fake one in the video. Additionally, they all have 3 little stripes on a hardware logo, but all made in Italy. Do the "rules" mentioned in this video apply only to a certain time frame? Because there is no way that all Portobello bags on the internet are fake even tho there aren't a lot of them available to be fair.

exactly, i got confuse myself. :) she mentioned only the caviar version has the "Made in ..." just below the logo. But in my jumbo lambskin bag it has the "made in..." just below the logo. and the logo is flat laid!

I bought one and left it in a cab after that I’m not spending on another I’m sorry. No one’s spending 8000 for a bag the prices are insane. It’s not unfortunate fakes exist some people like the style but could never afford a bag. And if it’s hard to tell the difference honestly was it even worth the inflated price?

some website claim that the hallmark is supposed to be "made in france" and some says that the hallmark means the hardware is gold plated regarded it's made in france or italy. even some website claim to sell authentic bags has the hallmark with "made in italy" so which is the real answer?

Nina Jen some people say the hallmark stands for made in france, some say it's because it's gold plated. I suggest getting it authenticated. fashionphile do offer life time authentic. when in doubt, I wouldn't purchase it.

There was a very recent documentary and they were interviewing very well-off women. These women were speaking about how they no longer purchase authentic purses and have chosen to purchase really good *topluxs* of the designer bags that they do like. They then take that saved money and invest their money into other things such as real estate, stocks etc.

Hi, you mentioned that a authentic Chanel chain stitching should not be machine stitch and it should be stitched inside not along the outside. I have recently purchased a vintage patent leather camellia flower mini which the chain stitching is on the outside. You have mentioned in the video, the only bag that Chanel do machine stitch down the interlacing is with vintage jumbo flaps, how about modern jumbo flaps (those selling in store now)? I think the reasons we used to buy luxury goods are no longer valid. I love the feel of a well-made, buttery soft leather bag. Now that these mansions are cutting corners and jacking up prices, young people don't see the value and the luxury side, so all that's left is for them to see. Once you buy any bag (fake or genuine), that "newness" wears off. You still feel empty. A bag doesn't really satisfy what's missing in it. think about it. Because once you get tired of it, it's a waste, why not buy a super fake *topluxs* so you won't lose a lot in the end.
