Keep up the good work, man! You are the most fun to listen to among the flashlight reviewers, you are definitely the most eloquent. I subscribed after watching my first video from your channel about the Armytek Wizard C2 PRo. The B-rolls are so entertaining. I noticed you edit your subtitles, too! That must be a lot of work! Thank you!

It's hard to believe that top-quality channel like yours has so little attention. Video quality is just phenomenal for amateur production. Content, detailed knowledge and reviews you're providing are on top level. It's simple beyond my understanding that channels run by people blabling without much sense and barely realizing what they're reviewing are sometimes much more popular than valuable content like here. I do hope you'll have well deserved space on the other channel and still be able to post own reviews from time to time. Keep up the great work and make us happy with new videos, please :) All the best!

Thanks for the update. As someone who only relatively recently adopted flashlights, as a hobby, what I am interested in, and what I would like to see more of, is a focus on lights with excellent sustained brightness. What impresses me is diminutive size, along with excellent sustained brightness. Comparison between different types of drivers, is also very interesting. For example, you mentioned that the new Emisar D4 is available to be spec’d with different types of drivers. It would be very interesting to see comparisons, with run times, And beamshots, discussing the differences in brightnesses and runtimes between these different drivers in the same light.

What's the difference between kr4 drivers? I'm kinda new to the hobby and have tried d4v2, D4k, and now I have a Kr4 and it's by far my favorite. Did I miss out not requesting a different driver besides the boost driver? Thanks! Edit: also congrats!

Hello Luxwad, before you migrate to another channel, let me ask one more question on this channel. :) I am looking for a rather unusual torchlight, namely - very bright (around 5,000 lux at 1m). This can include either high or turbo, but the output should be consistent for at least 3 mins. I am using it to spot animals far away, so just 3 mins is fine for me. - Have high CRI (>90 if possible, >95 even better) - somewhat lightweight (less than 500 g) For budget, around $500 still cool with me. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks in advance!
@LuxWad2 жыл бұрын
Hmm that's an interesting one, there's just very few high-power and high-CRI thrower lights like you describe. Generally lights for long-range use don't gain any meaningful advantage from having good color rendering, so the only real options are to get an enthusiast-style light or mod one yourself. Anything that I would categorize "very bright" will be low-CRI, or high-CRI and very floody. You can try looking for something with a CREE XHP35 HI LED, which is ~80 CRI but still looks very nice, and is around 1600 lumens or so. The Noctigon K1 with said LED is a very nice thrower, not too large or heavy, and is the only super-throwy light I can think of with high-CRI emitter options. You could also get that light with 519aDD or SST20 4000K for something extremely tight and throwy, and high CRI. For something even smaller, and very affordable, a Convoy C8+ with dedomed 519a will get you a nice tight beam, ~1100 lumens and ~98 CRI. SST20 in that light probably won't have enough output to be worthwhile though. 5,000 lux @ 1 meter equates to 5kcd (candela is effectively a compensated measure of lux @ 1 meter), and if that's all you need you have tons of options. However 5kcd is very much a flood light, I consider a thrower to be 40kcd+ depending on host size. Honestly, I would forgo CRI and look at some options from Acebeam such as the L35, L18 and L19. Those are some of the top throwers right now. Thrunite also has the excellent Catapult Pro. And finally, if those lights aren't enough, I do think the Thrunite TN42 V2 is a fantastic long-range super flashlight, it's over your stated weight limit but is going to sustain output the best and throw the furthest by far. I hope some of those suggestions are helpful

@@LuxWad Thanks mate! Someone from reddit also recommended me the Acetone X50 2.0 High CRI. This was the light that I almost settled with. However, after more digging, I think I will go with studio video lights. Namely, the Amaran 60D as it checked almost all my boxes. - Super bright (45,100 lux at 1 meter) and has a good throw - Around 500g - Crazy high 95 CRI - $150 Another pro, since it is large, it does not have issues maintaining 45,100 lux at 1 meter consistently. Torchlights is very inconsistent I noticed after watching a few other videos. The largest negative... it is so large compared to a torchlight. Still, I guess you can't have everything!
@LuxWad2 жыл бұрын
I actually have the Amaran, it's a good light. You will need two NPF970 batteries to power it, but one major advantage is that it will sustain its output and you can use different reflectors to change the beam type. It is not good for wet condition however, so be aware of that
@JasonTheZoologist2 жыл бұрын
@@LuxWad I will keep that in mind! Thanks for the advice!

Wow.... I skimmed through a few of your videos and you really know flashlights!!! Hoping you would be willing to help me. I'm not a flashlight guy even though I don't leave home without one, all I own is a 5yr old thrunite 18650,5 yr old AA right angle zebralight,and recently a sofirn sp10 pro. I don't mind spending money and really want a GOOD LIGHT WITH RGB AUXILIARY LED'S. I was looking at the notigon lights because thats all I know of with the rgb auxiliary led's,anyway YEA I LOVE FLOOD,LOVE THROW,LOVE 6500 KELVIN,LOVE NEUTRAL WHITE......LOL GET IT? YOU CANT POINT ME WRONG. the main thing I want are the rgb AUXILIARY led's, no bigger then 21700 and decent run time without step down atleast 5 or 600 lumens for 30 minutes if possible. So what would you recommend or buy yourself. If there's led options please be specific because I know nothing about them..... ID TRULY BE GREATFUL FOR YOUR OPION.....
@LuxWad Жыл бұрын
Unforutunately there are no flashlights without step-down that are 21700 and feature auxiliaries. If you want good sustained output, check out the Fireflies E07X Pro and E12R with Nichia 519a - both are highly efficient 21700 lights with Anduril and RGB aux. They will both sustain about 1,000 lumens of output

@@LuxWad THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!! I just want to know if your opinion is the same after I clarify the step down.... I didn't mean NO STEP DOWN, I ment no fast step down ONCE the light reaches 5 or 600 lumens. So I'm looking for a light that can hold 500 or 600 lumens for 30 minutes..... I know many lights can't hold the crazy 6000 3000 even 1500 lumens for long but I need a light that can hold at 5 or 6 hundred for a while.... THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN

Thing is, flashlights are kinda niche. Almost no one I know even knows about flashlights that have lumens higher than 200. And then you cover lights that are a niche in niche. Most people are just lumen snobs that don’t know about something as simple as color temperature. So you review lights hat no one knows and subsequently you have a very small pool of potential viewers. However, I feel in the future people will be seek more information. You should keep planting the seeds of your genre.
@LuxWad Жыл бұрын
Super niche, I'm surprised these videos get as many views as they do. That's part of joining the Lumencraft channel, there is a much bigger audience there and we are going to make videos that will hopefully reach a wider variety of different viewers. I think there's lots of potential there, but we'll see how it goes!
