this was such an intellectual and rejuvenating conversation. I felt instantly inspired listening to these elegant and wise women talk and discuss literature. A part of me yearns for a fellow confidante or a group with whom I could hold meaningful conversations like this

Your words are also inspiring! I totally agree with you and I'm searching for the same thing for years now. The intelectual needs of us women are all reflected in this little group and the such few subjects they brings to the conversation. I only wish that we could see more moments like this.

Remarquable. What a treat !

Thank you Chanel for really understanding women and following through with these vlogs. Whether in French or English I love them all the same. As a brand I’m so glad to see you understand it’s not just about what we wear - it’s intelligence that’s attractive. This discussion and Kiera’s reading were lovely and insightful. Thanks again for adding beauty into my life with words. I loved it.

This was such a treat to watch. I especially loved Charlotte Casiraghi's insights. I thought she had an inspiring view of Virginia Woolf, connecting her words to a Holy Mother figure. I've tried reading Mrs. Dalloway several times, and I'll try again now with Charlotte's approach in mind. Thank you, Chanel.

A stimulating conversation with which to start the week. Loved Keira Knightley's reading and Jeanette Winterson's discussion of VW. What is missing from so many women's lives is that sense of ease; that sense of leisure as we tear around trying to be everything to everybody, especially The Angel in the House. I'm going to try and quieten that voice - for the coming week at least! The question of VW's age - why should men be prosperous and women poor? - could be widened out, to why should some sections of society be so prosperous and others so poor. That too is a topic for our age and one VW would have engaged in vigorously, I think. .

It´s great to see women using their power and position (on a platform like Chanel) to share and promote the "thinking", the ideas, the literary and philosophy works in an open way for women. I had the opportunity to give some philosophy classes in Mexico for medium and old aged women without formal education, it was hard but wonderful to discover for them their own understanding of ideas while reading, and for me to find the way to explain in simple words the concepts and arguments, and to discuss in class, their intellectual interest emerged in more and more secure words and questions.

There is something deliciously subversive about Winterson's lecture here - a need for public libraries, the pressures on women to put on a show in masculine spaces, many women internalise conventions & are in the service of patriarchy...we are here to support one another...we need to use our privilege and power in the service of good...I am in awe of her presence on that stage as her animated, inhabited self 🧡

I like very much Charlotte Casiraghi approach of Luxe through Literatture, I think is very important. I think that idea is very powerful, i dont have the connection with her mum Caroline de Monaco with that, but it’s something necessary, to recover literature. Thanks Chanel.

I've heard and know a lot about Virgina Woolf as a public figure similarly knowing, through various media adaptations, like Jane Austen ( whose work I've never read **Pride and Prejudice**but feel like I have!) her presence is ubiquitous and legendary in the modern world of language, film and art. However, I was always intimidated by her. This has definitely stoked the fire to get reading! The piece Keira read was wonderful.

Thank you for this speech. I’ve always thought that all our system (industry, magazines, society) is conjuring to keep women stick to a role even when it seems they are claiming our freedom. It’s 2021, I live in Italy and I still see women leaving as if we were in the XX century.

There was mention of equal pay by knightley but its not just that its many things, education, other peoples abuse of power or inaction of power. The varying degree of womens rights from country to country. womens health awareness theres many things and still not enough done. Any women who has a position of power needs to leverage it for other women, and not be taking it for granted. Its important to be vocal on these issues.

The interesting thing about this is not what these ladies think of Virginia Woolf. It's what she would think of the fact that a fashion house like Chanel deals with these kinds of issues... Yes, she probably wouldn't waste a single second of her time watching or hearing this...

Wow my God, wow thank you so much. 🙏🏻🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 Does by Keira Knightley My God 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌹. There's a movie dedicated to this Genius? because it's so special this emotional reading of Keira Knightley... it's incredible, I don't know honestly if there's already a movie on V.W. I hope so. Creativity is a practical thing... It is true. That a group of real wise women, wow, yes 🖤🙏🏻🔥 "You think about the past, you 're managing the present, you're wondering about the future". La mescolanza dei tempi è sempre qualcosa di particolarmente mentale, sembra quasi noioso parlandone ma non lo è mai. Ogni discorso quì è fonte di creatività su cui riflettere, veramente complimenti. 🖤🙏🏻🌼
