Change Blades on Husqvarna YTH24K48 Lawn Tractor

Getting the Husqvarna YTH24K48 lawn tractor ready for another season @ St BernardAcres. This one has 3 blades on it. Just having fun and chatting while showing you how I do it. Hope you enjoy. Next video will be changing the filters and oil.

Thanks for another informative video, love the balance the blade part! I used a wire brush to clean the area where the blades fit on the drive gears then applied some anti-seize compound on the drive gears and bolts. This makes for even torque when tightening the bolts and easier removal the next time I sharpen them.

Cool , The filters are just a short and long , They should interchange , but when there is room i run the long filters . Some mowers just do not have the room for the long filter ,

Thanks for the video. I have a YTH24V48, also purchased in 2013, with 115.4 hours, and a B&S engine. At the time of my reply, I have the tractor up on blocks... i.imgur.com/lv0ZXFY.jpg ...the spark-plugs disconnected, my torque-wrench at the ready, and to change out its blades. I got the MaxPower 16 5/8" blade three-pack off of Amazon, as the originals are slightly shorter than that. This will be the first replacement as well. I get the oil-filter, probably the exact same one you needed to return, at my local Wal-Mart. Yours has the Kohler engine, which is most likely better than the B&S, but I haven't had any issues thus far. Thanks again.

You know if you take out the 5 cotterpins you can remove the entire blade assembly and not fight against gravity

Damn, Joe, that sucks. I think it would be a great project to get the bottom of the barn all fixed up with doors on all the openings, and screw the hatch to the ground floor shut from both sides. It seems that you can't keep even an old lawn mower out there, so it's worth the time to secure that part of the barn. It's probably cost you more already than the materials you would need to make and install doors on all the openings. Most of them wouldn't need to open, at least not until you're going to move out there. Sorry to hear you were hit again. All the best to you and Gail from Linda and me.

+KMAC Radio Heck, my Craftsman ran for 22 years, and we were still using it out there until someone stole it. I could only with to see that from the Husqvarna. You are absolutely correct!

Yeah those could have been sharpened but they’re not too expensive. Mine are destroyed dad borrowed it and ran over something hefty!
