This woman spent a good deal of time telling how wonderful she is and harped on "Diversity". Let me then ask how it is,as one who was able to rise above so many others can accept this premise? A large majority of her Navies minions are what they call "Petty Officers". This is the epitome of insult to any other human being. How can these people be so crass as to imply that anyone is petty? Look up the word and tell me if it's something anyone would wish to be called, petty? These "Ring knocker types" go through their day thinking that they really are something special, something exceptional, that they truly are superior to all the peons they perceive as being under them. Well lady with the gold stripes on, you are none of those things you think you are. Come down from your self imposed throne and get a clue. You, nor any other of your ilk are better than anyone else. For the Navy to accept this terminology where these people are constantly being referred to as "Petty" is a slap in the face insult. Surely the Navy could refer to these enlisted troops as something other than "Petty". In the other forces the enlisted troops are treated with dignity whereby they are called Corporal,Private, Sergeant etc.,anything but "Petty". My advise would be,to get your butts out of the "O" Club, the "Wardroom"and many other places where you have these"Petty" people cater to your every whim and come up with a new descriptor that conveys a degree of DIGNITY. You Navy star guys have always had a problem keeping your self importance front and center. As an example. Many a year back, you Admiral types had a big concern with the perception that some would think that a "Commodore" might be of higher rank than an Admiral,God forbid. So what did you do? Eliminate the rank and go with "Rear Admiral lower half". That description leaves much to ones own interpretation. Lower half of what? I sit on my lower half. Maybe you should call them "Petty Admiral" until they suck up enough to get star number two. Well people of the star persuasion, I have to leave for work where we are all important and far from "PETTY"

petty officer rank has been there for almost 100 yrs. she was called just that at some point. its is a rank below officers and its not an insult

@@TheBatugan77 she was my executive officer on the USS Tortuga LSD 46. I was a second class petty officer and she was an LtCmdr. I thought she was very nice, down to earth, and a people person. I liked and respected her. This was 1996.
