depends a lot on your age, the older you are the harder it is to learn, (but not impossible) i was a very well known top elite disco dancer, UK, one of the best of 3rd of 5 (depending on what source) from 1977-1980 "Only the very very very top UK guys know this" some Americans also i knew a bit about guitars , nothing special so, one day i saw a guy on bass slapping & popping once i realized that was how my fav funk disco tunes were made i immediately became a bassist 1976/77/78

yea ,,tune your bass to Eb Ab Db Gb ,,to get into this joint ,,there are many tunes that are played in Eb ,,sometime to make it easier for trumpet & saxaphone players to jam ,sometimes to make it easier for keyboard synth players ,,however some tunes like micael jackson get on the floor are tuned normaly ,,thanks ,,

Wicked man! Been trying to learn this lately! Such a dope bassline, well done! If you don't mind me asking, did you have to tune the strings flat to get the E to go low enough? Could just me being an idiot but I was trying to learn it by ear and it sounds like my E couldn't go low enough... Any help would be massively appreciated!

putting tape on ones thumb is a last resort venus ,,its often done because the thumb is so brused dry cracked & sore,,,maybe from trying to learn a song too fast , playing much too much,,or much too little ,, i did not need tape on this one,,
