Just wondering if you have had any issues mechanically with your TDI Q7? I'm interested in buying one lots of opinions out there. Some love them some say run away.

I bought mine used from a person that took it to Audi for everything. They drove it mostly city and if I’d recommend anything for any diesel is not to drive it just around town. The intake valves got so much soot “ carbon buildup “ that I had to take the intake manifold off and do a thorough cleaning which was a huge mess. After all that I loved that car. I drove 5,000 miles a month for work and I think the car was happy with all those miles. I ran a bore scope camera down the intake to see how much soot it accumulated over 40,000 miles and it was surprisingly clean.

Realistically if you can, stay away from anything Direct injected also but there isn’t too many vehicles that are not direct injection anymore.

Hi what did you do before starting the car? Turn on ignition 3 times 10 seconds each?

Yeah that’s all I did and it fired right away on the 4th try. I’ve changed the filter 3 times now, the same way.

Did I miss something? Because at the 10 minute point in the video, you removed the fuel lines from the new filter that you just installed. Then at about 12 mins and 44 secs, you started cycling the fuel pump at the ignition switch.....then you just started the car.

I removed the fuel lines from the old one replaced it with a new one. The hose clamps were very difficult to get off and on so that’s why I skipped all that nonsense. Yeah I pushed the start button without pressing the brake pedal screw it wouldn’t turn over then on the 3-4 cycle I pressed the brake to start it. 🤷‍♂️

Your video is very confusing. Seems out of order. Maybe an edit is in order or at least a voice over to let us know the video is out of sequence and you are just showing later how you disconnected the hoses

@chadley58 haha. Never even watched the video. I don’t have the clips anymore but it’s like 4 steps but out of order. 1,3,2,4. Oops. Pretty easy to follow I think.
