This can cause it to hella leak rite bro ? Because it only leaks when iturn on the car or basically when ignition isturned over but itwasbad today ? If the gas tank was cracked wouldn't it leak constantly???

Yes this can cause a leak that you can smell as soon as you open your car. Mine was cracked and it looked like someone had try to repair it before. After replacing this filter no problem.

Was the plastic cap for the first bolt hard to remove by front area? did you pry from bottom or top with flat head? 1:14 in vid. Thanks in advance! Excellent vid

I removed that plastic piece with a flat head screw driver front the top. But be really careful because they can break easily.

Hi Manny, on some videos it appears the fuel filter has 2 small electrical connectors on the bottom side, but in your video there only appears to be one. Do you know why that it is? I am trying to help my father-in-law diagnose fuel pressure problems on a 2008 V8 Touareg, his fuel filter seems to only have 1 electrical connector as well but he is worried that perhaps 1 is missing.

When you buy a new filter, the new filter has one wire but you will see 2 more wires when you replace the old filter. They are part of the harness inside the tank.

That’s the only filter I know of for this vehicle, I would check the high pressure fuel pump (on the side of the engine). I had a problem with mine and the car was going into limp mode.

Jesus Peña Ibarguren en el manual de mantenimiento no indica cuantas Mills’s o kilometros , pero en mi vehiculo falló a las 110,000 millas. Yo recomendaria mover el asiento y inspectionarlo a ver si tiene señales de roturas o estrias en la parte plastica del filtro.

By any chance did you have a problem starting it up mine started for a good 30 seconds and then died. Now it’ll just crank and won’t turn on.

Dannacutekitty :3:3:3 my truck never had starting issues other than the bad gas leak, this cars also have a high pressure fuel pump that goes bad sometimes. If you can check the codes with a scanner you can get a better idea of the problem.

Ramiz Yoosaf yes this is the most common cause of gas smell inside the Q7. The plastic part on the filter cracks with age, you can check under the middle seat of your truck.

I would check your gas cap first to make sure that it is sealing.

I think that's the fuel pump because the fuel filter is located on the front 🤦🏽‍♂️

This truck has 2 pumps one electric on the passenger side and one mechanical on the engine itself. I replaced the fuel filter.
