It’s remarkable how a single unit, when equipped and set up properly, can heat/cool an entire house that large and be so efficient when doing so. Modern hvac has come a long way. My parents have a 2 story but it has 2 separate systems. Well done on the install!

Installed a 4 ton XV20i in my house last October. It replaced a 2.5 ton XR10 that was woefully undersized for the house. I got the whole home electronic filter and a UV sanitizer installed. I love this system. In this blistering heat here in South Texas this year, This system has kept my house at a steady 72 without fuss. My old system would run almost 24/7 just to keep the house at 77 under the same conditions. My power bill is now about 1/2 less with the new system. (about 150-200 less so far during these hot months)

Just had my new XV20i system installed yesterday (4 ton, previous was 3.5 Rheem that was about 18 years old) and I am in love. Keeping the home stable at 73 through a peak of 98 outside today. Power consumption (I have a SPAN panel and can track) is so far about 1/2 the draw of the old system, maybe even less. Amazing! Just super thrilled with the system. It's expensive but I think it will be so worth it, especially given the climate change we are seeing and the hotter summers here in Texas. Added a Reme Halo LED and 2 extra returns (for 2 rooms that ran hot). Happy camper here!

It's not so much roi but rather comfort you get with this system. No better zone system on earth. It auto zones every zone. I love installing these! I was a trane dealer till 2000, then went to American standard.

Good vid. Those trane Thermostats sure are Pretty. cool seeing compressor speed on thermostats these days. i only install rheem for the last 37 years. ive had rheem units so quiet that i put my ear on the panel while its running and still could not hear the compressor running. its very cool when they come out quiet.

These things are not worth the price tag. They are overly complex and prone to failure. Recent example I saw recently was a bad expansion valve stepper motor. I would think for how much these people pay they would have more reliable equipment

I believe this structure has many issues with temperature balance. Zoning can make a big difference in comfort and can save on utilities if paired with a variable BTU unit. I was born a poor boy thought like a poor boy my whole life. I have a hunch this neighborhood has many 70k automobiles parked in the drive ways. If 13k can make these crazy condos livable then it will be a bargain. Stop thinking like me and sell yourself at a higher value because you're worth it.

I know this is 2 years old, but you are a natural for placing multi-zone VRF/inverter condenser with two indoor air handlers. Zero zone controls to fail after 24 months. I place them all the time. Huge savings.

Nice install! How is the system holding up after the 5 years or so that it has been installed? I have seen other Trane installations go for many years (10+) with zero or close to zero problems, and the outdoor top covered unit is really good for reducing debris / rain / snow from getting inside the unit.

Hey Ted happy birthday dude! Anyways I noticed the gas supply looked like it was hard piped threw the floor then went to soft copper then back to hard pipe at the furnace. Do u see a lot of soft copper in your service areas cause we dont ever run into that . Only like I have seen soft copper rain was in the ground to a gas fired grill outside or something like a fire pit.

Ted I have a 14 seer carrier in my 2 story 3000 sq ft house it is a 5 ton single unit with zone top and bottom floor... my issue is both thermostats are set to 75 on a hot day the unit cycles at least 20 to 30 times in an 8 hour period when one floor calls for cool while the other is already in cool mode it shits down for 10 seconds and takes over so the wait period is roughly 10 to 15 second between cycles everything is running OK but this is my first home with a system like this and we are in a new build any suggestions ? Also I'm in Arizona 120 degrees is pretty common out here on a summer day
