Thanks! Your lil video is still useful after eight years -- imagine that. I never would have suspected the regulator of causing a battery drain. 5:19 I should add that _something_ is draining the battery if it discharges while connected but doesn't when either cable is disconnected. I just never thought a faulty reg would or could do that. I would have thought something else, like a small ground fault of something.

I was having the same issue I got a brand new battery and it would die over night I thought it was the stator going bad so I changed the stator and now its doing the same thing volt on my display I am going to have to try to change the regulator now thank you

Don’t sell your self short. If you can do the work you are a mechanic. How you get the info is your choice as long as it fixes the problem. I think this is my issue. I had my wildcat act up on the weekend. Thought it was from me playing music with it off. Went to go last night and lost everything. Had to get a tow home. Would this be the best bet over the stator?

Hello, thanks for your time. Last year I bought an artic cat 700 efi. Last week my voltage regulator burned out, so when I took it out I noticed that some wires were not connected. The 3 yellow regulator cables are joined to 1 yellow with green cable, another with yellow with orange and another with yellow with red (they are the ones that come out of the stator) The strange thing is that there is a yellow and brown cable that is not connected... I also found a black and red cable. Do you know where I should connect them? thank you

I see that you did this in 2015. Did this take care of the issue long term? I've had to replace the VR twice in 2 years on my 700 along with 2 batteries that got fried. Just wondering if this is a design flaw or did I get "lucky" with 2 bad VRs.

I think I have changed it 2x since then and think its bad again. I have read somewhere to add a ground wire and that will help. I am going to try that on the next one. Very frustrating...
@wayneedgerton58925 жыл бұрын
@@fireman7753 I had not heard about the ground wire. I went another direction and added a small fan that blows on the cooling vents on the VR. I noticed how hot it gets and thought some added air flow might help. I did this last spring and so far so good.

Hey brother, do you realize there is a middle eastern mother with her child screaming help me. Then there is a link to donate money.
