Last year’s Victorian State Budget may be a distant memory. However, landowners in Victoria may soon be reminded of recent changes to their tax obligations under the newly minted State Taxation Acts and Other Acts Amendment Act 2023, which was past at the end of 2023 and has come into effect from 1 January 2024.
In this webinar, our Property Law team will provide a timely refresher on the property tax landscape in Victoria and an overview of the broad-ranging changes now in force, as well as those forthcoming later this year. The team will also address the proposed changes to stamp duty for commercial and industrial property to commence on 1 July 2024.
This webinar will cover the effects of property tax changes on residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural landholdings, whether currently used or held for future purposes.
This session will include address examples such as holiday houses, hobby farms and vacant residential sites; and commercial/industrial acquisitions to provide you with some points to consider in determining suitable land holding structures.
