So I have this unique problem where I've replaced the battery but the cover won't close properly at all, I've tried it without the battery in and the cover still won't close properly. Any advice on what to do in that case.

The push button bounces or stuck in the closed position in which case the door won't open, try it a few more times. Also you might need to reprogram the pad once you've removed the battery.
