Great video, no waffle, straight to the point and very clear, even a dummy like me now knows how to change brake discs and pads. Cheers Sean.

Cool vid 👍🏻 but I’d add … copper grease pads and I always wire brush the hub before fitting new disc Also, take care when removing them torx screws holding disc as I stripped one once 😐 which was a reet pain in the arse You can lever piston back in with large screwdriver but obviously piston tool better

I need to do the same - but hey - I am gonna wear some gloves and definitely I will not to make the new discs greasy even before they are installed - anyways - watched all your vids - keep up good work. BTW - is it possible to make a video how you change the PCV valve on your astra G and how to clean the easiest way the crankcase ventilation system. Thank you

Do you have your twist the piston in or can you just push it in ?

push it in mate

Always copper grease the back of the pads or you'll get brake squeal.

Never use copper grease. Use a ceramic brake paste
@pataleno10 ай бұрын
@@bimmerladuk7287 Thin layer of Copper grease is fine on the back of pads. It's anti seize and a excellent conductor of heat so can be used. Some garages don't put any grease anywhere :) Red rubber grease on Caliper pistons as Copper being mineral based will swell the boots.

lots of meat on the pads bud?

Would have waited till the pads needed changing before doing discs as well. Plenty of life left on them.

How many miles did them discs do?
@ainsmas3612 жыл бұрын
Literally depends how you drive.
@michaelgeorge5605 Жыл бұрын
Ventilated discs will last longer probably than solid discs. My disc lasted 40k miles and 20k for pads.

i dont have a Torque wrench, how crucial is to put back the screws with the right torque (I just want to be sure I don't skip any steps)
