You crack me up! You learned how to fabricate a motorcycle frame and TIG weld before you ever changed your battery... I love it! Don't feel bad about the battery ordering process. It can be tricky. I bought my old Honda without a battery to compare. If I remember correctly, it actually came with a dead battery wayyyy too big in the box. I was lucky I received the proper one my first shot. You're doing fine. Everybody starts somewhere, you know.

The first time I did a rubber mount Sporty battery it took me a bit too, after that its a 10 minute job once you figure out how to handle the ground cable. Some sport bikes they put the battery under the fuel tank..

I put a battery tender on my road glide special. I’m happy it worked for the winter. I just fired my bike up yesterday. I never had a lithium battery before

I used it too and it always worked. But after I upgraded my engine my old battery couldn’t handle it anymore

Hi Deimante. Glad you were able to solve your battery issue. For future reference, you might be interested in doing what I have done for several years. I use MotoBatt batteries which have 4 terminals so the battery can be turned around if necessary to accommodate your bike’s battery cables. I have had good performance from these batteries which come in sizes to fit most bikes. Reasonably priced. Your bike looks good, Ride safe. Cheers, Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦

Good job Deimante, (longest battery change in short utube time) you got it done for first time. Simon on the phone was funny too. Hope you got some sunny days to get out and ride. Hope you have a great weekend. Make sure the terminal nuts were really snugged down with socked wrench as they might loosen up otherwise. Friend has a mc shop and he finds loose battery terminal nuts loose on 50% of bikes brought in.

I put in 1275 in my 883 late last year also. I kept the bike on the trickle charger all winter and am also experiencing problems starting. I think the higher compression means I need more cranking amps. So I also ordered a stronger battery and it should be here on Tuesday - I hope it fits! Interesting problem thanks for the video. Have a good ride.

How old is your Iron? Curious if it is only problem with the old batteries or all stock fitted Harley ones are simply can’t handle a bigger engine.
@grantbierlmeier76412 жыл бұрын
@@tomboyabit it’s a 2009 883 custom - I’ll pull the old battery out on Tuesday when my new one is supposed to arrive and check if it’s original but I suspect (subject to checking) that it has 200 cold cranking amps - which is too weak for the high compression so I splurged and bought a lithium battery with like 450 cold cranking amps - but after watching you video I am worried about the location of the negative and positive (I also didn’t think to check that before ordering) - I’ll post and let you know Tuesday - cheers

And I kept my stock heads when I upgraded the motor which gives a higher compression than the stock 1200

@@grantbierlmeier7641 Let us know if your have been mixed up too online. That hopefully will help more people to check if before ordering and save time and the frustration. As you only need to take a side panel off to see one terminal. It’s negative on mine.

Great job, Deimante!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 And such a fun video to watch, indeed!! 😉 I still have an old battery that I replaced on my 2008 Sportster, right before selling it. I will check the terminals but I'm almost sure they are the same as yours. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Hi, you have to turn ignition on before removing the main fuse. The alarm monitors the main power. But when ignition is on the alarm isn’t monitoring the bike. Love the video though very amusing.
