Hi...thanks for the video. I just bought a Peugeot 307 and it always take some time to learn about a new car where is what and how is done some basic work. Your video helps to shorten that time and prevents some damages. My little piece of advaice If I may would be to use a funnel to put the new oil in the engine so you dont have any drip. Thanks again. Wish id seen this video before i changed oil today on my 307. I watched other vids but none of them said about how soft the oil sump is and how u dont need much pressure when tightening the plug. Mine started to get loose after tightening like it was wrung. It would feel tight then looser then tighter so i stopped when it felt as tight as it would stay and luckily its not leaking yet anyway even though i tightened too much. Im hoping it doesn't leak.

Always replace it. Not expensive and you prevent the risk of having a leak.

You forgot to tell what type of washer there is on the oil tank plug. Is it o-ring or copper or steel?

Man.. Car shops always overfill the oil when changing it. My girlfriend got a 307 1.6 and when we got the car back and checked it it was like a 1cm above the max... I hate that.

1) Jack is not enough to secure your car. Imagine somebody passing by and hitting it when your're under the car. You can get two dedicated supports for like 15$ 2) To remove excessive oil from the engine you can use vacuum device, not necessarily plug on the bottom.

Hi, The oil spec is 5W30 to 10W40 according to ACEA A3 or API SH/SJ for petrol engines. Concerning oil consumption I would not say that this is normal for pertol engines. This is high even for Diesel. Perhaps a headgasket? How is your accelaration? Do you have good compression on the pistons?

Uważaj przy wymianie oleju bo możliwe, że masz zerwany gwint. Popatrz na w internecie na zastawy gwintowników i korków do miski olejowej. Nie kosztuje dużo a może bardzo pomóc. Jak nie będziesz tego miał a zlejesz stary olej i okaże się, że masz zerwany gwint to nie zarkęcisz już korka... Wtedy dopiero jest ciężko.

@@nickgrmblfx3344 - What's really important is to not have a oil leak! With that said particularly on this type of washer (rubber and steel) you find the same washer can be used for years without ever loosing a drop. AND very important, without ever over tight the plug. ;-)

@@crpth1 Well, but its safer to replace. They often get crushed (especially the copper ones) and then they cant seal properly. And i think its better when they get crushed so that the seal is even better. And he said that his oil pan is out of aluminium so he has probably a copper one (or a rubber one, i couldnt see it).

Hey B, I would say the car is OK. It is an older car so you will need to account for some repairs but you can do a lot yourself and the cost of the parts is very low! Not to mention that the trunk is SW version is huge + SW is a 7-seater. Hope it helps.

Hi Tharmor, The socket size of the sump plug is a standard square interface 3/8" per ASA B5.38. The bolt is M16 (spanner size 24 mm). Hope it helps.
