Changing Oil on a Volkswagen Jetta in 10 Minutes

Hey guys, in this video we will be showing you how to change oil on this 2013 Volkswagen Jetta GLI. For this procedure we used the Castrol 5W-40 motor oil, going the original way of using the ramps and draining from the drain plug. The car has 100k miles and still going strong without any issues. VW dealer will charge you around $80-$100 for this service where we were able to tackle the task for around $45. Hope you guys enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

You should look up how to use channel locks. The weak side should always be in the direction of the rotation. That’s why you couldn’t get the oil-filter-housing tighter.

I always use channel locks when taking old filters off and it always works 😂

I just randomly came across this video and I'm hoping 4 years later you discovered what a 32mm socket is for that oil filter housing instead of using channel locks and tearing up that housing.

Чувак ты что меняешь масло и даже не знаешь сколько масла влазит в твой двигатель ? У меня 2015 VW GTI и туда надо 5.7 quarts. I’m sure your engine needs the same amount....but shouldn’t you have checked before you do the oil change? 😁

the 1.8t and 2.0t take 5.8qt :) - EDIT - Now that ive googled for sanity purposes its saying 5.2 - Ive always put in 5.8 and its just under the full line though. I dont know what to believe anymore...But ive never had a problem so im doing what ive always done. SEND IT - 2nd EDIT - ok now more pages state 5.8 and some say 5.2. Does anybody know anything anymore? ITs 5.8 100%
