Harry Wakatipu--actually laws do in the United States do perpetuate rape, unfortunately. Let me give you a few examples: in the state of California, a perpetrator gets less of a sentence if the victim is unconscious, Until recently in Norfolk Virginia, it is written on the books, that a rape victim is lying, this automatically classifies the rape allegations as false. The State of Michigan and its “Rape Insurance” Law-Here’s an interesting one. On Dec. 11, 2013, lawmakers in Michigan passed a measure that bans all insurance plans from covering abortion unless the woman’s life is in danger. So if you are not lucky enough to have planned in advance for “Rape Day”, you are going to be out of luck. Women who seek abortions after being assaulted need to have already purchased a separate abortion rider to have the procedure covered. I could go on. Unfortunately, there is more.

As usual, when a rad fem starts making claims about the law, there are no citations. When you write _"less of a sentence if the victim is unconscious"_ ... *less than what?* As to your _"rape victim is lying"_ nonsense, once again, citation needed. Perhaps you mean that the accused is assumed *innocent until proven guilty*. Something that probably offends you deeply. As to your abortion claim, perhaps the Michigan lawmakers discovered that women were fraudulently claiming rape to get an abortion covered by insurance. The false claims were perhaps causing police investigations that were costing the state a fortune. Again, citation needed, so that we can see the reasons.

Why do you think the unborn child should be held responsible for the actions of a rapist ? Does he deserve to die because of that ? As always, feminists prioritize the "feelings" of a woman over the life of an unborn infant. Good to know, now I have a really solid reason to bash on feminists and hate you like you deserve.

This whole speech suffers from a sharp case of "citation needed". Also: 2:16 Laws that perpetuate rape? Like the fact it's illegal? And that being convicted of it will land you a minimal sentence on par with those who commit armed robbery and extortion, and often land you a life sentence? And apparently, judging by the tone and content of the presentation, the best way to cut down on sexually inappropriate behavior in society is to make the issue of rape/orthodox sexual practices not only forbidden to joke about in a trusted and casual environment, but to even talk about or mention in a pejorative manner. I propose her three-step method with one of my own: 1) Grow up a little. 2) Learn to value the truth over whether or not something is offensive.

Will men be better off videoing &/or voice-recording (secretly or otherwise) every sexual encounter to ensure that men don`t get accused falsely of a woman removing consent at any point? The alternative being that men all stop providing women with sex. Just a thought... That is if the criminally-minded people don`t allow men to collate `defence evidence` prior to being potentially accused.

Lyndsay I have a question for you.... Have you ever called or referred to someone as mentally-ill? Because as someone who suffers from bipolar disorder, I find that very offensive. You are promoting "normal' culture where people who do not have mental illnesses are considered to be inherently better than people with them, and I find that extremely offensive. Actually, I do not find it offensive, because I realized that most people speak out of good intentions and that someone referring to someone as "mentally ill" is equally as inoffensive as someone saying they got raped by an exam. Actually, it is more offensive to call someone mentally ill, because you are insulting a person, not an exam. I could go on with this, but I think you have gotten the point. While real abuse against women is obviously a huge problem, being offended and correcting every day language is not really going to do much to help the dire state of this issue, just like me throwing a shit fit and correcting someone every time someone every time he or she uses the term mentally-ill is not going to help people with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, or any other debilitating condition suffer any less. And saying that someone is promoting the actual physical rape by using the verb to rape in a completely different context is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?

Fiftycalibur Even though more men are raped than women, I still don't believe "1 in 6". Plus, a woman can't rape a man if he is forced to penetrate her. Yes, it's a different category. Insanity.

Interessting speach even though I did not agree with everything the speaker said. The problem I have with the phenomena known as "rape culture" is not the idea itself but how people talk about it. I read sociology and it´s clear that this kind of phenomena is in the qualitative sphere of sociology rather then the quantitative and studying about it is very abstract and have limited generailasation. At the same time when femenists and gender rights activists talk about it, it sounds that they places "rape culture" in the quantitative sphere were they say that it´s "perfecly clear" what "rape culture" is and what it´s indicators are. At the same time people fail to prove the correlation between the terms indicators, for example if sexualisation in a culture really is the cause of sexual assult. I am a man and because of that I know that it will effect my own premice. I belive that sexism in our society and our culture is awfull and that it should opposed. At the same time I don´t agree with the idéa that men who commit rape don´t know the impact of rape but are aware of what they are doing and not commit rape due to a sexualised culture. At the same time I am open if anyone wanna share any other theory of why some men choose to rape and if anyone can share Ms Andersons study with me I would be most greatfull. Cheers!
