Just an FYI regarding the Spark Plug GAP, to get rid of multiple error msgs from my FIXD device after installing the new spark plugs, to fix the problems I opened the GAP from the factor set .043 to .06 and now my Jetta 2.0 purrs like a kitten.

It’s been a few years since I made this so I don’t remember exactly but sometimes I use a little rubber mallet off camera to get bolts loose if they are too tight. Sometimes some bolts are just tightened way too tight so that might also be what’s happening in your case 😂

@@MTParadise Here's my update, I ordered the parts I needed and using your video, the work went pretty quick. Tossed in an oil change while I was at it. The garage quote was $300 parts and labor. Toughest spark plug was the second from the left but managed it. Best tip - taping the spark plug socket to the ratchet. Cost me about $125 and an hour of work. THANK YOU!

I bought all the linked parts, except for the spark plugs that I picked up locally. They’re the same autolite brand but instead of double plat I got iridium ones, but now I’ve gotten a flashing CEL with the P0301 misfire code. The spark plugs were pre gapped to about .042 - .043

Swapped out the old ones and noticed that one old wire had a damaged connector, and now with the new ones on the car is running smooth. I noticed as I'm doing mine that the reach of the spark plug replacements I got are less than the OEM. The Autolite XP are 0.75" and OEM is around .875". And I see in your video it's the same comparing new Bosch and OEM Bosch side by side. Makes me more confident that it's ok, I've just never seen a difference between reaches before on any engine I've done.

You can do it by hand but if you want to be technical you can properly torque them. I just did for the video because people gave me crap for not torquing my Porsche ones 😂

I was having an issues and replaced the wires as well to see if that was the problem. It doesn’t hurt to replace them after a while to make sure that everything is running perfect but they don’t need to be as long as the old ones are working

Though tapping the spark plug socket is a good idea.. in less time u can just use the regular socket that is the same size that wont have the issue of staying stuck on the plug.

I need some help with my VW Jetta 2015 2.0l, I changed the ignition coil and the spark plugs but my car still not run fine, sound like when a car is about to turn off because doesn't have any gas, btw: I changed those parts cause that was the diagnostic when they scanned 🤦🏻♂️, there's any possibility that maybe the fuel injectors are bad ?

It can be common for older cars to have dirty or faulty fuel injectors. I actually do have a video for that so if it’s that, I hope that helps. Sorry I don’t know more

help! did a spark plug change cause the car was shaking bad, upon installing the new plugs the wires snapped... bought new ones but I'm not sure what wire goes where to the coil looked at your video and from the sound of it put them in the wrong order because when i drove it it sputtered and died... looked online for the firing order (had 2 on 3 and 3 on 2) thought i was in the clear but somehow the car still shakes bad and looses power, i was driving on the highway and and the car suddenly only revéd to 2000 rpm but i was only going 20 mph and i was gassing it all the way just to get out. so what's the problem? called a mechanic and he said timing belt? someone else said valves might be Coming apart. and someone else said it's the coil. so what is it?

@@MTParadise we did the code reader and got a p030( o2 sensor) p0300 (multiple misfires)/ p0301 p0304 (Miss fires in cylinder 1 and 4 )

The problem currently is that, there is a jerking problem that results when I abruptly hit the Accelerator, and also at speeds above 35 or 40 mph. What might be the issue?

Check for corrosion on the spark plug cables and if they're new, make sure you correctly connected them from the spark plugs to the ignition coil terminals. There's an order and if it's messed up, it can cause jerking. Just fixed mine that way.

I misunderstood the order of the plug wires from this video, completely my fault, and my intake manifold blew up; sounded like a shotgun blast LMAO. Got a used one for $34 from the junkyard and instead looked up the wiring diagram on Google. All good and running now.

I’m glad I could help. You’ll want to check the gap. There is a little tool you can get at any auto part store and I think I might have a link in the description but it’s super easy to get the gap. You just stick the gap tool in the gap and you move it until it’s on the right number. I know there’s different size spark plugs but make sure you get ones that say they work with your car. Different brands will work as long as they are the right size

It’s the same for each one. Reaching down and pulling off the wire that leads to it then for the spark plug, I only edited out me turning the wrench around and around lol.

My wife’s 2015 jetta was misfiring, she barely made it to Canadian Tire automotive, western Canada, the codes came up spark plug and coil problem, they replaces the plugs, cables, coil, parts where $200 can $ and labor and taxes were $630 can $ , total $ 830.00, complete rip off this looks like it takes one hour to do. Should have had her tow it home, car only has 54,000 KMS on it.

I wouldn't have went with that cheaper brand for $29 if you can spend $29 you can buy a name brand for 50 everybody on Amazon says that $29 one stops after 6 to 7 months

@@MTParadise yeah I mean it's just my own experience just my own experience I bought no-name Brands before and it's just such a gamble however most Volkswagen dealers will match prices if the part is the same or similar and Audi dealers where I live. Because I used to buy parts from ECS tuning and then I realize they're selling you Parts sometimes that are out-of-cycle like Volkswagen Audi Porsche don't even use the part anymore it's been revamped so many times but they sell it to you for almost the same price as a dealership so then I would go to the dealership and they would offer me the same price and they'd give me a the newest version of the part that's more reliable just like spark plug wires they one time sold spark plug wires that were out of rotation for more than 3 years yeah but there's so many online websites dealerships that sell their parts online now for very good prices to so ECS Tuning has to get more straight with their customers.
