How to change a rear coil springs in your own driveway on a Vauxhall Astra.

Thank you for the comment, Just make sure you get some penetrating spay as well as there is usually some corrosion on the bolts

I have a 2007 opel astra twintop and the rear springs where changed recently the car is sitting lower in the back I think it has a 4 coil spring in the back I was wondering if it should have a 5 ring coil spring in the back can any one help thanks

Although usually they don’t, Coil number may change with manufacture, just check from your supplier that they supplied the correct ones

Hi good video. Question. Rear brake pipes my car failed MOT. Nearside and offside can you replace these yourself or is it best to leave the car in for this job as I've never done brake pipes before. ASTRA H

I presume your on about the metal pipes, Yes they can be done by yourself but you need a brake pipe flaring tool, replacement brake pipe new brake fluid at the correct spec, and the ability to bleed them, some cars you also need the software to open up the abs but I don’t think you need that for the Astra H, as they are brakes and your asking this question it may be ibest to have them done for you

Brought my astra h second hand and it use to bounce down the road. Chamged rear shockers for new ones car no longer bounces down the road. Have since cut coil springs to lower car down 2 inches. Will be uploading vids to my channel soon

If your in the UK the your cut springs will be a MOT failure, as the top and bottom of the springs are a different size to the body, if you want it lowered in the uk then you have to use different springs

There is always a recommendation to change Shock absorbers, Springs and tyres in pairs, tyres and shock absorbers make a big difference, owing to the way that they wear.
