Very proud Dane watching this in Sussex! My father served as a Royal Guard when he was 18.

This has been a lovely series of videos! I'd like to thank MBE for the wonderful videos! Once again thanks to @Centreret-fyr who's been helpful behind the scenes. Excellent job by the Livgardes Musikkorps & Tambourkorps and Soldiers behind, you should all be immensely proud of your duties and beautiful country! Guds hjaelp, Folkets kaerlighed, Danmark styrke. 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰 Did love hearing 'San Lorenzo' and 'The Royal British Legion March'. Did enjoy the tuba close up on the latter! The side drummer is always a treat to hear close up. I do like the overall sound of the smaller snare drum use within the Musikkorps. Again, Thanks MBE for bringing us more videos of this spiffing ceremony!! 🇩🇰🇩🇰

Thank you once again!! Certainly a highlight for me to experience some of these parades with a variety of uniforms, weather and marches!

Finally the weather was on your side! I remember the first time you came to Copenhagen where it was raining all three days and you initially were afraid that the parade might be cancelled. But it never is. Thank you for another great video!

Yes, finally a good weather day for the parade. It was perfect! That is true, it still amazes me that the band plays on in the rain, completely different to the UK! I hope you are doing well and thanks for the continued support!

Nordens Faner. Composed by Richard Lindebro. Arranged for our band by Sam Rydberg! Maybe my favorite march!! ♥️🇩🇰

It’s a brilliant march. I didn’t realise it was a certain arrangement for the band, thanks for sharing this!

@@MilitaryBandsEverywhereSam Rydberg arranged every Lindebro march. Lindebro was "just" a policeman with a sense of af good march melody, so his friend Sam helped him out with the instrumentation! 😊

Man, the moment they enter Amalienborg, playing "Nordens Faner"... Damn!
@MilitaryBandsEverywhere17 күн бұрын
It was a fantastic performance of a great march!
@na304416 күн бұрын
It fits so perfect for their instrumentation... that bass section, the lack of Saxophones, their tempo... 18:52 in the video. The rest of it as well though, so many pieces unique to the occasion. The Parade-march, or "Amalienborg-march". You never hear any other band playing those. Or "San Lorenzo". Damn, I remember visiting København as a kid, walking behind the guards, following the band... made me appreciate military music for life. Thank you very much for uploading this.

That’s brilliant, a good story. Their unique instrumentation gives a really special sound and you are right the marches they play fit this so well and sound amazing. I’m glad it has brought back good memories and I can share the passion of military music with like minded people who can appreciate these great sounds!!

I think that for a relatively small country, the guard change in Copenhagen is quite impressive! The number of soldiers looks almost comparable to the London one!
@MilitaryBandsEverywhere17 күн бұрын
I would agree and it’s brilliant to see such traditions still performed accompanied by many historical marches not often heard elsewhere.

Good evening! So your danish trip is over, I think it has been a rewarding work, pleasant and satisfying. Thank you very much, MBE, for having offered to us home-viewers the chance to see a different and excellent changing guard, and also an overview of Copenhagen (never been there)! Thank you also for your interesting information. They've played "It's a long way to Tipperary" again, perhaps they like it🙂 Well, about your 'riddle', if i'm not wrong, I noticed the buttoning on 31 dec. was at their right side, while today 02 jan. is at their left side: isn't it? A true riddle😃 Anyway, left or right, they have smart uniforms, and i've enjoyed so much your danish videos. Have a good journey home✈️

Thank you very much Alba, I am so glad you have enjoyed and think the trip has been a rewarding one. I can agree with this! You are also right, it is a beautiful city. Your answer is spot on, I found this most interesting to learn that depending on the month number it can change the buttoning of the jacket!
@MegaMuhs17 күн бұрын
@AlbaAlba-fg2io The reason for the uniforms being buttoned to alternating sides is to reduce tear and wear by spreading it equally to both sides.

@MegaMuhs Thank you, Sir, for explaining, a very good remedy to reduce tear and wear. Smart uniforms for excellent Royal Guards and Band!

Great video! How do you recognize what march is being played? For example I couldn't find the Dank Flagmarsch on the Inthernet.
@MilitaryBandsEverywhere15 күн бұрын
Good question. Fortunately I was able to ask a contact within the band for information on what they played, which proved very useful for some of the lesser known marches such as those not available online currently like the Dansk Flagmarsch!

Går de samme rute hverdag?😊
@MilitaryBandsEverywhere17 күн бұрын
Yes. It is the same route every day. The Musikkorps support the parade when the King is in residence at Amalienborg Palace, but not on Friday’s or Saturday’s. The drum corps march on these days or when the Crown Prince is in residence. Every other day the same route is still marches by the soldiers with no music.
