So, why is the foam sleeve left on the pump drive shaft? What purpose does it serve?

I‘m glad that I found this channel because I need a new Danfoss Oil Pump but there is Confusion about the right one. Currently we do have the BFP21 L3 No. 071N0211. It‘s about 20 Years Old and Nobody knows which Oil Pump is the replacement for it. Could you please provide the right Item Number so that my Plumber can order it? Thanks in advance.

Hello sir, what is the difference between the Suntec oil pump and the groundfoos, what are the advantages of each oilpump
@DanfossInstallerLife4 жыл бұрын
Hello, Thank you for the question. The Danfoss and Suntec pumps are pretty much alike and are designed to pressurise oil to a point where the oil is atomised so that it can be ignited creating a flame within the combustion chamber of a boiler whereas a Grundfos pump is designed and manufactured to circulate water within a heating system. Hi you think a bad pump can make the burner not turn on?
@DanfossInstallerLife3 жыл бұрын
Hi Csoto. A pump can be seen as the heart of an oil-burner. It has three main purposes, suck the oil from the tank, build pressure and deliver it to the nozzle. If one of these three functions are not given, then the burner will not run. Have a good day Danfoss Climate Solutions

Just to repeat what Ian has said. ... Thanks Danfoss Heating, you have told all the DIY'ers how to do it, but not the correct way. What about PTFE on the HP pipe fitting, the 'engineer' is not wearing gloves, oh and as it is a 2 pipe system what about the bypass screw?
@markmcdowell18737 жыл бұрын
Steve Piper that pump doesn't have a bypass plug

No use of PTFE sealant tape on fittings going into the oil pump, this is misleading people into thinking fitting will just hold oil back without sealant.
@greg62764 жыл бұрын
Your comment is misleading. The pump has a sealant in the end of the thread hole and also, PTFE should never be used for oil applications.

Let's just hope the DIYers don't see this video. No sealant on the nozzle line elbow, no setting the pump up for a 2 pipe system, no pressure gauge to check and adjust the pressure. All very well sticking a written warning up but the DIYers will ignore that!

Hi, First of all the Danfoss videos are not targeting the DIY people as we strongly recommend that only professionals are servicing the oil burners and the videos do handle different misc. situations and are kept short. To do a correct service and setting of an oil burner do request equipment that not are in the hands of DIY and this do lead to settings which can cause low efficiency, pollution and in worst case dangerous levels of CO which can lead to suffocations and/or explosions. Regarding the elbow fitting no sealing is needed as it is a type that does seal at the bottom of the thread hole. Further both pumps are 2-pipe and no change over from 1 to 2-pipe is needed (can be looked up in the service manual as shown in the video). Video for change over between 1 and 2-pipe operation is as well available. Have a good day DanfossHeating

Agree about it not being targeted at DIY people but.... It happens. As for the elbow, I'm referring to the 1/8 bsp male thread that screws into the pump body. That cannot seal at the bottom as the elbow will nearly always be facing the wrong way when it bottoms out. I'm an oil boiler service engineer in the UK working on these every day and all Danfoss oil pumps sold here come set for single pipe operation, we have to change to 2 pipe if required.
@chrisfelton96057 жыл бұрын
Incomplete, insufficient and misleading. If it's not targeting DIY'ers then why put it on KZbin. The elbow doesn't bottom seal in the right position and all your pumps come set to single pipe.
