Your info on the solenoid was spot on. My oil burner was only burning for a few minutes and then turned off, replaced the solenoid and everything is working normal. Thank you a lot, your info helped me a lot, especially because it's -20C here right now 😅😅

On the coldest day of the year. 4 hours of servicing fault eliminating provided no solution. I had a tea break and found your video (after watching 6 others). Your tip about the pump solenoid failing after 2 minutes due to dodgy coil heating up and breaking contact . Swapped it from my boiler spares box and great joy we are warm again. Many thanks excellent explanation well done.

Magic eye is a photocell just so people know what to look for at the merchants. Transformer produces 30 to 50 thousand volts for ignition of the atomomised fuel/air mixture but with a low amperage so it is less lightly to seriously harm or kill. The 220 to 240 volt supply to burner is much more dangerous as it can have anywhere from 0.1 milliamps amps and 3 amps can be enough to light up your insides and youd be history. It takes only 100mA to stop your heart. It's a good video guide and I'll recommend it for others to watch👍 Always replace bearings. Solenoid coil slips over the brass solenoid valve stem. Depending on the size of the jet....psi for diesel is 140 psi and 90 psi upwards for kerosene.

Thanks! Perhaps you have an idea what the problem is of my oil heater. It has a Danfoss oil pump BFP 52E R5. The heater can heat with 80kW and 110kW. It has two solenoid valves. I think for 110kW both are open. Now when I start with 80kW the heater starts without any problems and if if switch then to 110kW it's also working. But if I want to start it directly with 110kW it is trying to start, rattles a bit and turns off. Do you have an Idea what it is? Thanks a lot

Hi Been having trouble with my heatslave 26/32 Having watched your video I tried a few of your tips, and found the fan wasn't turning freely (by the way this was on a sterling 40 burner) so I disconnected the fuel pump from the fan and the fan was fine but the fuel pump was notchey so put some olive oil into the bearing side and Worked fine. So ordering a new fuel pump Original symptoms were when flat cold And everything reset it would heat up ok Then when you wanted more water i.e. Shower/bath /heating etc it would trip out Guessing the bearings in the pump when warm would be more tight Thanks for the great video although different pump the principles are the same 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Bloody excellent - I've got a Redfyre Oil Range Cooker - can I get someone to service it; more chance of finding Hen's teeth! Last engineer recommended I buy a new range cooker (£9k).
@buttyboy1002 жыл бұрын
Ditto, my 20 year old Redfyre hasn't been serviced for a few years for that very reason. Local oil boiler service people seem to imply it is some kind of black magic.I think they just don't like having to work through the relatively restricted front panel of the cooker. Most common problems on mine have been solenoid, several times (Grundfoss solenoids seem very unreliable) and the motor capacitor changed a couple of times. This video has been an excellent explanation of what is going on.

Brilliant video and extremely well explained! I watched it through a few times while waiting for a qualified engineer to come to fix my Rayburn 680k cd boiler as the cooking side kept locking out and eventually would not fire up I'm surprised how simple the workings are in oil fired burners and how easy they are to understand having watched this video It turned out that there were 2 problems which were preventing my burner to fire up First of all, the oil pump was jamming, not all the time, but intermittently. the oil pump and solenoid were replaced and the burner fired up However,after a short while it locked out again so the engineer came back to it The second time, he replaced the fan capacitor and that has sorted out the problem I will continue to get my Rayburn serviced annually by the same qualified engineer but I was just curious as to what the function of the fan capacitor is, which is the only thing that wasn't explained in any detail in this video Can anyone tell me please?

Hi Sebastian. My burner won't come on at in house control unit but when I go out the red light is on, so press it, but funny thing is it works and STAYS on but when I switch it off indoors it won't come on with the timer , goes back to red light 🤔 . In June I cleaned the actual boiler and cleaned the plates inside and changed the nozzle and was working fine until a couple of days ago any help would be appreciated
