Good review. I love my Everyday, it's loose and playful off the tail. But, it's not particularly drivey, like you said. It's my go to for waist to shoulder high. I consider it almost a grovelor.

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! That's super interesting. For me, it's almost completely the opposite. I feel like as it doesn't have much inherent speed of it's own, I really need to be on a good wave to get it going. Otherwise I feel like I'm trying to ride a bike whilst holding the front brake 😅 I feel like it's got the outline of a groveller, but has the rocker of a good wave shortboard, which feels really confused to me. Still waiting to get it in some quality surf to see how it goes then!

@@renegadesurftravel I was chatting with a guy at the surf shop the other day who hated it, he also didn't like the lack of drive. Why it works for me I couldn't say. But, I don't find it slow. I tried using large fins to increase the drive but I didn't like that it made the board stiffer. I prefer to keep it loose...I use Kolohe mediums. It just means that I have to keep it in the power section of the wave. But, that's basically my style of surfing anyway.

I really liked your review, as well the other video, where you tell which boards should you take to those places. I appreciate the honesty and, quite frankly, I was hoping that you had some footage of your surfing in good waves with those boards. Have you ever tried epoxy bords on the Maldives and Indo? They fly when it’s small and glassy. This year I am thinking going to Indonesia, I am still no sur which 3 board quiver should I take.

Thanks for the feedback! There are some clips of me surfing the Sharp Eye in the other video, but I don't have any clips of me surfing the Happy Everyday yet unfortunately. I have used epoxy boards in Maldives and Indo, but I prefer PU for a few reasons: - more of a stable construction in hot climates (I have had a couple of epoxies that have delaminated in the heat) - easier to do a DIY repair if I need to, and polyurethane foam is closed cell, which doesn't suck up as much water if you get a ding (compared to polystyrene foam which is open cell and sucks up water like a sponge) - feels good in all conditions (I prefer epoxy in small glassy conditions as you say, but PU just works in everything, so it's one less thing to think about)

change your fins in the happy ed, any fins in AM template is gonna make the board magic

Nice review! I want to get the I72 and am kind in doubt about the size. I am 94kg and 6’6 in height and am considering a 6’2 around 35/36 liters. But if u say the board feels smaller maybe I should go up a bit. What’s your opinion?
@renegadesurftravel4 күн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! Super hard to say without knowing your surfing quite intimately to be honest. That said, yes, it feels smaller than the dimensions suggest. But do I wish I ordered it bigger? Absolutely not.

@@renegadesurftravel I surf consistent for more then 15 years and only ride shortboards. I’ll order the board just as I ride my other boards. Thanks for the reply!🤙
