I was a professional self-employed Hatton Garden diamond setter from 1978-1990 when I abandoned the bench and went into full-time manufacturing. A 3rd generation setter but was largely self-taught, learning the trade from a young age by simply watching my father and grandfather at work. Which was just as well as they both died before having the opportunity to teach me in any real detail. All I can say is this. If I had spent that amount of time getting the job done I would never have made a living or had to charge so much money for doing the job no one would have given me any work. I had things down to such an art that I made a bloody fortune for 12 years. so much so it set me up for life. If I had been that slow I would still be sitting at the bench. I could make what was then the national average weekly wage in just 2-3 hours. while I was so competitively priced I could have worked a 10 day week every week of the year. There is getting the job done, and getting the job done, and making money, they are NOT the same thing. Being a commercial tradesman is all about cutting corners while doing a perfect job. There is not a school in the world that either can or does teach a diamond setter how to make real money from just a diamond setting. This mainly because it is an impossible thing to teach anyone, you either have it or you don't.

youtube has a "remove camera shake" feature that it suggests for videos that it deems "shaky" but in this case it only made things worse.

Semi correct. But it gets the job done, for this ring. Not always so friendly with stones sizes and ring design. Keep that in mind. Even in this video I learned something. Keep an open mind.
