Hey Toby, good to see you again. Everything you say is competely understandable, so don't even worry about what's happened and how it happened. To quote a movie: "whatever happened, happened and couldn't have happened any other way". Kudos on your new cats and new home, they all look amazing, hope you keep motivated and happy. As for what we would want for content: I think anything you do will be of the upmost quality so stick with whatever people tell you and your gut tells you. Personally I would love to see more SMM2 and retro games like Conker's Bad Fur Day, GoldenEye 007 or even Perfect Dark from N64 (the list could go eternally, but you get my point). Try analyzing level design in other nintendo games (not necessarily just mario). You can even take said design philosophies and show them applied to mario maker in order to freshen up your content, but also to cater to your fans who are here for mario maker and level design. I enjoy watching level design videos, and I really love those that talk about other games on their own before tying them back into Mario Maker. Also don't be afraid to try some ideas of your own that sound interesting, even if you think others won't find them so great. It'll be great to start seeing content from this channel again, even if it isn't all mario maker.

Love your channel. I think modern Tetris would be a fantastic series you could start. There are so many things about the game that people don't realize. There can easily be dozens of tutorials and it's actually really hard to find quality training videos in my experience. Modern tetris is really starting to become popular on the switch and PC through games like Tetr.io, Jstris, Tetris 99, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 which will be released in December. I would include Tetris Effect as well, but until they add their multiplayer mode it's more of just a fun experience.

Sticking to one game is sure to lead to a burnout and eventually a death of a channel. (I mean look at tf2 youtubers) Branching out while still having some topics from mario maker is an amazing idea. If Geography Now can make profiles of every single country with some sort of schedule, so can you. I reckon you can distribute the Item Breakdowns, perhaps, by production cycles: you work on three at a time, and you release them either weekly or non-consecutively (IB/another topic/IB/another topic/IB). After that, you take a break from it, work on other projects, and then, another IB production cycle

My mind has wandered towards building certain kinds of fun courses as a sort of therapy for people who've become disillusioned by Super Mario Maker 2, igniting some measure of unexpected and much-needed excitement. ... I feel like a lot of minds have become mired in a sort of sameness, and people are internally screaming for novelty to get injected into their brains, including myself. Super Mario Maker 2 is still my main reason I have an internet subscription on the Nintendo Switch, however, but I want to have the mind to take cues from other games to incorporate into the courses I create. How about a bad game, but using Super Mario Maker 2 parts to get a more fun interpretation? My Battletoads idea isn't complete, but the Frog Suit and Super Leaf combo is working quite swimmingly. Even my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles dam level idea is showing promise when interpreted with the SMM2 Frog Suit. People are actually using Zelda 2 as a reference point to craft interesting and reasonable dungeons, with decent power-up placement, and giving the idea the bros and toads are cursed, and they need the Master Sword to resume their normal form... somewhat like the moon pearl from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Maybe someone can craft an infinite checkpoint Link course with the obligatory safety coin, but you need certain items to get through certain doors and pipes, like a spiny shellmet for hard blocks, or a Super Star for a doorway guarded by a bed of munchers and a big boo. Maybe two pathways could be accessed with the shellmet and two with the Super Star so players won't feel as railroaded in your course. I've also tried an interesting combo of classic SMB and SMB3 castle as the 'skeletal frame' of the course design, but peppered with elements from Mega Man 2 (and 3), Castlevania, and Ghosts 'n' Goblins. I wanted to capitalize on the availability of both combat and puzzles, with an attempt to balance combat so it has a fun measure of intensity, and an attempt to spice up puzzles, so you're not merely just dunking your explosive into the slot. I always felt like some classic SMB2 (Super Mario USA) dungeons were too difficult and boring, but there seems to be much more available to fill the void in Super Mario Maker 2. There might be no flying carpets, but there are koopa-copters, unlocking more opportunities for fun, exploration-based course design, somewhat like Little Nemo: The Dream Master for the NES. My mind also lends itself towards trying to get new players hyped to play the game, even in a world plagued with homogenized AAA multiplayer spam. The unfortunate trap of it is kaizo, which draws more viewers than players, so my hope is to craft something which not only encourages challenge while making the player feel awesome, but also helps make it fun and tempting to organize grand ideas in the form of level design... and to actually buy the game so they can actually have the fun... the kind of fun they they usually watch other people have on livestream sites and the 'Tube. ...that burnout though... ...difficult to stave off, especially nowadays, and sometimes it is difficult to get into the mindset necessary to put in the work.

I have the impression that the most casual players have already lost interest in the creation part of Mario Maker 2. The communities that I participated in have either died, or are slow with only the most fanatical people posting. The game is not dead and probably many people would be interested in videos, but not to look for a source of information to use on their own levels, but to be entertained with the video itself (more or less like Ceave's videos). About other games, I think you could dissect the level design philosophy of famous games like Donkey Kong Country, Celeste, etc. I don't know if you are interested in that, but I believe it is something that many people like to see. If you are familiar with programming, you can create a series about game design with an easy-to-understand engine (Godot, for example) is interesting, although I think this is kind of unrealistic since it would require colossal work for something which may not have much appeal among viewers.
