The (nearly) whole food plant based creative experimentation is what I am here for. Plenty of other channels doing donuts and I really don't care about most of that. The tofu series is fantastic. I would love to see the same approach to yogurt. Thank you for what you do!

Yes, I just tried yogurt in the instant pot and total fail. probs too many fillers. It was From store bought almond milk. I think Id rather make my own almond milk which Ive done but then make yogurt on the stove from there.

I’m all in for a yogurt series! I used to make it when I could consume dairy and it has literally been decades since I’ve had homemade as I occasionally treat myself to store bought vegan yogurt. Also a big thumbs up 👍 for the tofu series 😊

As someone who eats pretty whole & healthy, I’m looking forward to the new direction :) I certainly love watching the unhealthy stuff, but almost more as a fantasy than something I’d make. I definitely relate to the struggle of being tempted by the unhealthy things in the house…I stay on track by not having any of that around 😅

(1) You have a huge, loyal following that will gladly watch anything you put together, bc you're a great cook, a forward-thinking person (=you value animal welfare and good nutrition), and a delightful human. (2) I'd be happy to see a WIAW vid with one big meal -- your take on food (lots or a little) is always welcome. (3) I looked into vegan keto when I went vegan in 2019 but I couldn't manage two big changes then, so selfishly I'll welcome a move in that direction (and I won't miss the donuts etc., tho I salute your creativity). (4) Your longer hair is wonderful -- you look great. Happy new year.

Your tofu-ifying series has been really interesting and educational. Pumpkin seeds are such versatile little powerhouses, love 'em! I was wondering, would it be possible to include a written heads up in videos/at the top of the caption in the video description when videos contain discussion of calories, for those of us recovering from EDs? Also, thank you so much for leaving up all of your older videos and recipes after the pivot and for sharing your newest creations :)

After dealing with chronic sinusitis, I took a hard look at sugar intake. My husband recently started eating alkaline… He’s a hard-core sugar addict and had a lot of stuff around the house that I was snitching. Since we cleared out the house of all his stashes on 1 January, we both feel so much better! I’m excited to hear that you’re choosing health because that means anyone who watches you will be choosing that as well. On this note of you eating one meal… Starting your day with a green drink, I drink wheat grass, really sets you up to be less hungry and crave sugar less. That’s what we found. And if you eat just one meal in a day, that’s interesting to me.👍🏻

Not everyone can do high carb or even balanced macros, but still wants to eat a diet as kind to animals as possible, and there's a dearth of plant-based low-carb content out there. ''Click the link, this is your sign'' I don't like it when influencers do things like appeal to magical thinking, I think that a lot of people with anxiety and OCD (Myself included) can't differentiate between 'intuition' or 'signs' and nervous thinking, and that everyone can feel guilt and pressure about their health in a way that is just different from other products like bidets or underwear. Mary, if you're reading this, hello, thank you for reading my comment - I really like your channel and I just subscribed a few weeks ago - it has shown me a lot I have really liked and actually tried (like pumpkin tofu, it turned out pretty well) - this isn't meant to be a personal attack. I understand that sponsors give creators scrips, or key words that you must say, such as 'This is your sign' - But I think that it should be clear which part of the sponsorship are genuine experiences, and which are just read out. I just think that it's really important when it comes to health products, especially subscriptions that really cost money, to be careful about marketing using empathy and/or spirituality. Edit: Ps. Your avocado rose is beautiful, and I was just thinking about using plant milk curds as scrambled eggs earlier today! Thank you very much for reading, and I hope you know that this wasn't intended to guilt you. I hope you have a good day.

Thanks for the update! I'm glad your health is improving! I just started following the channel recently, and it wasn't because of any sugary treats, it was for the tofu! I even bought that tofu press you recommended, but I haven't made tofu yet. I bought several kilos of pumpkin seeds at Costco to make pumpkin seed tofu, without realizing that they were roasted and salted, not raw. So I need to find another affordable source of raw pumpkin seeds ASAP so I can make that yummy looking tofu! I appreciate vegan recipes that have no sugar, and vegan keto recipes. I tried vegan keto for about a month and I found it SO HARD to eat a decent variety of foods. I mostly ate tofu and cauliflower! I have also been baking bread lately, so I'm interested in bread-like concoctions. I don't have an issue with gluten, but I tried buying gluten free bread for a few months when I was eliminating different foods for 3 month periods to see how it would affect me, but it was always so gummy. I never found a gluten free bread that was better than no bread at all. I think THIN rice cakes are the best bread replacement for me, because I mostly just use bread as a peanut butter holder anyway. But I am interested in seeing how your bread-like experiments turn out. Finally, thanks for showing off your kitties, they're so sweet! Your 19 year old looks a lot like my kitty. Anyway, take care!

Thanks for the kind comment and for sharing your experiences/challenges. Vegan keto IS hard. I love that your old camera is that maroon-red color, it's the same shade as my old 5 megapixel (oh the horror!) canon IXUS digital camera (the small pocket sized one) also I think partially why the 'unhealthy' / 'indulgent' foods videos blow up on the algorithm is because some of them require a lot of time/ dedication / level of technique and skill to make, and many people watch these videos because they don't ever intend to make those things for whatever reason... they just indulge through the video lol

does your body handle allulose well? i’ve really liked it so far, works great as a sugar replacement (it is sugar so technically it’s not sugar free, just calorie free, and it is a bit less sweet than sucrose but that’s fine, things can be a little less sweet), but it does get metabolized by gut microbes so if you’re sensitive to that it could be unpleasant

And hello Miles! We recently had to say goodbye to my 18.5 year old baby. 💕🥺😢 She had kidney disease and hyperthyroidism; and we maintained all that very well and earned a few extra years with her...but she was ending the late stages of kidney failure and was ready to go. Easily one of the most painful losses of my life and I am still grieving. We miss her so much, she was such a light in our lives. Neko was really my sweet little baby girl. I hope it's OK for me to respond. My PCOS was misdiagnosed for about 10 years, during which I experienced a lot of terrible physical changes. Please make sure that you have a great doctor -- someone who listens to you. (I know that you have a ton of resources that I didn't way back in 1982 -- no internet then and no PCOS books that I knew of, plus young women were *really* discouraged from saying to a much older male authority figure, "No, I **DO** know what I'm talking about, and I don't care what your textbook says: The meds I'm on are making me ___, ___ , and ___"), but I can't help wanting to make sure others are spared what I went thru.) Best wishes.

@@dw999 you’re fine and thank you for caring for a stranger on the internet. Unfortunately I do. I voiced concerns over my very delayed period cycles and I got a blood test and I had high androgens so we followed up with an ultrasound and there they were, clear as day. It’s bad when even a non medical person can go, “oh that don’t look right”. My mother has it too. Luckily my mother didn’t have problems having me so I’m not as concerned about having kids but it’ll be harder since I don’t ovulate as often as other females. Neither of us have the other side effects like hair loss, hair gain, acne, etc. I’m only on birth control to regulate my hormones and stop the eggs from getting congested in there lol. The bloating part of PCOS is something I’m not a fan of and I’ve been thinking of experimenting with a more WFPB keto or eco-atkins style diet to see if it helps. I’m blessed overall, but that’s the only thing that effects me daily. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for making sure I’m not going through a similar struggle.

Mary, if I'm out of line for asking, sorry ... If you communicate with AG and feel comfortable asking them to make a different offer for your crew -- like 30% off the 1st purchase instead of free stuff -- then I'd like to ask you to do so. I want to try their basic product, but $80usd per month is out of the question for me -- my daily food budget is less than $5, and there's no way I can come up with almost $3 extra to try this. Thanks for considering my request, and please ignore it if pursuing it would be at all annoying. Thanks.

@@marystestkitchen That's originally where I came from! I've been workshopping her recipe for a week or two now, and I just can't get it to work for me. I hope you do decide to tofu-ize yellow mung bean soon, I'd love to see your results and build from there.

sueam, I don't know whether this will help (everyone is different), but: I went vegan in late 2019, and I've lost 36 lb -- not quite 1 lb per month. Slow, but I'm not dieting, and I'm not hungry. **Avoiding lab-synthesized chemicals is key.** I eat a lot of frozen veg (can't afford fresh), brown rice, steel-cut oats, nooch, and beans; some tofu, tvp, nut butters, fruit, and stove-popped popcorn; and a little dark chocolate. I keep a lot of herbs and spices on hand, so it's easy to make a meal (veg + grain + protein) with an Italian-inspired sauce, or Thai, or Indian, etc. My diet is a bit repetitive (hence my watching vids to become a less-bad cook), but I'd rather be bored by my food and in decent health than where I was 3+ years ago. My cholesterol is fine, my A1C is fine -- everything is OK. I still need to lose another 30-40 lb, but given my age (61) + my former weight + a bad diet between 2016-2019, I'm in decent shape/getting into better shape. Good luck.

@@dw999 i’m glad your health is better now i’m pretty much eating exactly what you said minus dark chocolate I think because of the saturated fat I’ve been very hesitant to consume any more than 3 g on anything. I air pop my popcorn and sprinkle a little pink salt. I eat veggies and fresh or frozen veggies but I believe frozen veggies are even better for you according to my reading. I used to think the meatless meat were healthier and recently bought beyond steak I knew the canola oil was bad but online says it’s highly processed and I never really thought that was bad, but just missing the taste of meats Health is definitely first but making it sustainable it’s gonna be a tough cookie because this needs to be lifelong, not cycles 🥹
